I have one someone sent me from when Menon taught it.

After this current semester I will be 6 out of 10 classes completed with the MBA program. Shooting to finish this year which means I need to double up on at least 1 term. Taking ISDS 705 and MADM 710. I know both of the courses probably just got changed like most of the courses seem to be. Anyone know how difficult this next term will be for me? This is my first time doubling up.

I was always told ISDS and Econ should never be paired up. Take it for what it's worth, but I don't know how the workload is nowadays.

I just cranked out a 94 on MADM Test Now the gruesome waiting begins as the difference between an A and B will come down to the last Discussion Forum

As ISDS 705 was just recently moved from an elective to a core, their isn't a lot of feedback in this forum about it. It seems to be a pretty straight forward class. I'm not taking it until Fall AP2.
I was registered for MADM 710 in the Spring as a double but ended up dropping it before the session started. I still have the syllabus if you want to see what you're in for. Nothing extraordinary, just your typical MADM class with lots of writing, discussion forums posts, and term paper.
I also only doubled up once so far in the program. FIN 730 and MADM 715. Neither required any busy work and I still felt overwhelmed keeping up with the material. I have to do it one more time to finish by my self-imposed deadline and I'm not looking forward to it. Kudos to those who double up every session... I don't know how you manage.

I emailed Shaughnessy--no Connect Access is required. I purchased a PDF version of the text for $28.

Thanks but the syllabus is already posted. Looks like 4 exams, 1 interview, 5 case studies, and weekly forum discussions. Exams are proctored now too it seems. This is for MADM 710 with Dr. Kungu. ISDS only has 3 exams that make up your final grade. Looks like a lot of recommended but not required busy work to go along with it.

I just finished my first course in the program--ACCT 701--which was, in my opinion, too easy. However, I get the feeling that it's all "uphill" from here.
Does anybody have any insight as to which is an easier course: FIN 710 (Hsieh) or ECON 705 (Shaughnessy)? I minored in accounting and finance as an undergraduate, but looking thru the course materials for FIN 710, I get the feeling this is going to be quite difficult.
I guess my question is, do FIN 710 and ECON 705 presuppose a knowledge of Excel? I have used Excel, but would consider myself a novice at best. Any info is appreciated!

Latest news from the program
On Behalf of the MBA Director:
The MBA Program at LSUS continues to ensure the quality of our program and enhance your educational experience by incorporating new online learning tools such as ProctorU, Proctorio, and Turnitin. These tools allow professors to engage in exam proctoring and originality evaluations of written assignments. At LSUS, a major value associated with our MBA Program is AACSB accreditation, which means that we exhibit the highest standards of academic excellence and integrity. A new no-review policy ensures adherence to these standards. This policy states that professors will not return individual quizzes, assessments, or exams for review. Professors may share general results, but graded tests will not be returned.
Starting Fall AP1, the MBA Honor Code will be implemented in all MBA courses. This code reminds students of the University’s Student Code of Conduct and states our program’s expectations regarding high ethical standards. Acceptance of the MBA Honor Code is required for each course. No course materials, including the syllabus, will be visible until the honor code is accepted.
When you graduate from LSU Shreveport, you can be proud of having a Master of Business Administration degree that is academically strong, quality-ensured, and integrity-based. We believe that an MBA graduate from LSU Shreveport deserves no less than the best!

No review is absolutely ridiculous. I wouldn't have an issue with it but I have had to send an email to corrected the teacher on incorrect questions 4 out of the last 7 weeks.

I'm not thrilled with this new policy either. Not being able to review quizzes and tests leaves us in the dark and completely at the mercy of the professors and academic coaches.
This is the first time in my academic career I have not been able to review test results. I'd like to get an explanation of the logic behind it.

Al_Supertramp, where'd you find the PDF for $28? I'm taking that class also so I'd love a cheaper option. My email is mrsmfelix@hotmail.com if you can send a link

Agreed. If there are no reviews, the tests need to be reviewed by someone other than the professor for accuracy. I've seen a few questions that were incorrect or not related, because they use a test bank. Also, finals shouldn't be comprehensive. You have no clue what to study from previous modules.

It appears that they're so lazy that they just want to reuse the same tests and quizzes over and over again. It's the only way I can understand a policy of no reviews.
I'm fine with not showing the correct answers during the test period, but not even being informed of what I need to work on has me extremely unhappy.
I don't see how this has anything to do with academic honesty. I've never in my academic career not been handed back a test to see what I got wrong.
Unfortunately I'm on the 1 class at a time schedule and have about a year left of this baloney.

Has anyone taken the final for MADM 752 yet ? I just finished up MADM 701, so now I am focusing on 752. I plan to take it Friday. It doesn't state whether it is timed or not, and looks like it's on moodle and not mindtap.

I'm the same way. I'll be the first to say I prefer writing and actually applying the concepts. Multiple choice built to purposefully trick you isn't the best way to learn information and retain it for the long-term. If you miss a question and can't review it later, you'll likely miss it on a comprehensive final.

Wolfpack714 so all classes are required to use proctoring services now? This sucks if the professors choose to use the option where I have to set up a certain time to take the test just because of how much traveling my job does... booooo lol
Posted on 6/21/17 at 11:25 pm to MBAStudent
Brazilianprincess, I took the MADM752 test and it was finally reasonable, probably because Dr. Knotts took a minute to write it instead of depending on the test bank written by aliens for her MindTap quizzes. It is timed but I finished with plenty of time to spare.
Unless she reads my course evaluation before grading my final roundtable and business profile, it looks good for an A. If she reads my course evaluation, however, maybe a B.

I haven't had a class that uses ProctorU yet but had a few that used Proctorio. Proctorio you don't have to set up a time to take the exam. It's a google chrome extension. It does some security checks to makes sure you don't have multiple monitors or browsers. It takes a screenshot of you and your ID for verification then it just records you taking the exam. Occasionally it will ask you to scan the room. It's a very easy and low strain application. Hopefully those still using ProctorU will swith over to proctorio.
