Haven't read entire thread-
But is it true the suspect graduated from Bama or did he give up on it after 2 years?
I just don't see a college grad planning something so poorly even if sadistic enough to carry it out. Did he panic at lunch with the light bulb drop at the car and spent rest of the day too freaked to do anything?
Even if unintentional, he handled situation in worst way.
The sext messaging speaks to unintended to me, but the light bulb drop and driving 2 miles with the smell says the opposite.

There are a lot of truly moronic college grads (and I'd like everyone to note that as an AU person I'm passing on a real opportunity here).

Seems like I haven't seen much on this since the story first came out, but I remember one of the LEO's saying there is no way he could have driven 2 miles from work to the parking lot where he got out and was screaming for his son and not noticed the smell in the car. This is one of the most damning things in my mind, and I believe one of the things that made LEO think he may have done it intentionally.

I agree with you on this. I would think he smell would have been noticeable as soon as soon as he opened the door in that heat.

Has ole boy been sitting in jail this whole time or did someone post bail?

Any info of them getting a divorce. I mean dipshit was clearly screwing around on her while his child was dying in the car.

No it's not. It's a horrible circumstance but no more criminal than dropping an egg on the floor. Far far greater consequences, but no more criminal.

I have read several articles from the links provided in this thread, very sad stuff. One expert was saying that the way memory works is, the chances of forgetting a child, is the same as forgetting your cell phone.

The memory doesn't take into account the importance of 1 over the other.

I have an idea for an invention that would prevent this sort of thing from happening ever again, and if it would, responsibility would have to be taken.

This would take time to implement, but new cars, and all car seats should be equipped with an electrical device, maybe it would plug from the car into a receptacle on the car seat.

When the ignition is turned off, an audible message would be played reminding the driver not too forget the child. Amazing that it would have to come to that, but it would work.

If you choose to not use the device, and this happens to your child, you are responsible.

Jury selection started Jan 12th...Haven't heard anything sense.

Evidence released Dec. 30th

quote:

The core of the evidence is centered on the prosecution's contention that Harris murdered Cooper by purposely leaving him in a hot car this past June.

Prosecutors have said they believe Harris had decided he wanted to live a child-free life.

They provided Harris's attorney with more than 120 computer discs containing videos, photos, Harris's cell phone records, the contents of his home computer hard drives, his emails, and interviews with seemingly everyone who came into contact with Harris that day -- witnesses, co-workers, friends.

The 8 counts against Harris:

Count 1 Malice Murder

Count 2 Felony Murder

Count 3 Felony Murder

Count 4 Cruelty to Children in the First Degree

Count 5 Cruelty to Children in the Second Degree

Count 6 Criminal Attempt to Commit a Felony

Count 7 Dissemination of Pornography to Minors

Count 8 Dissemination of Pornography to Minors

quote:

But Kilgore has said repeatedly that there is no hard evidence that Harris purposely killed Cooper, it is all circumstantial, and that Cooper's death was a horrible, tragic accident.

quote:

Prosecutors say Harris was sexting with a minor girl, in addition to women.

I'm not a father but this is unexcuseable. No one forgets a child in a car, it's totally whack.

Why the hell does the process take this long?

I remember being horrified when this happened. I followed it closely and even started following Atlanta news on FB for updates. Had been wondering when this was going to trial.

A guy from the Atlanta Journal Constitution has been doing a podcast following the story. It's called Breakdown. The change of venue was a pretty big shock. IMO, the prosecution must have an undeniable smoking gun, otherwise I can see them not getting the malice murder conviction. I think they'll get negligent homicide, though.

As of father of three kids I can't fathom how you forget your kid. I never feared forgetting my kid because it was never a question if I had my kid or not.
