I heard an interesting podcast yesterday... The hosts were choosing an All NFC South team that they felt were the best players from our division. Sometime next week they'll set up a tourney and try and predict who would be crowned champion through all the divisions.

First and second string, skill positions only (for sake of time), and ok to use rookies and injured players. We'll call the defense a base 3-4.

I'm extra bored at work today.

What do y'all think of this:

QB: Drew Brees
Cam Newton

RB: Doug Martin
Khiry Robinson

WR1: Julio Jones
Roddy White

WR2: Mike Evans
Vincent Jackson

SWR: Brandin Cooks
Harry Douglas

TE: Jimmy Graham
Greg Olsen
________________________________________________

FS: Jarius Byrd
Dashon Goldson

SS: Kenny Vaccaro
Mark Barron

CB1: Alterraun Verner
Champ Bailey

CB2: Keenan Lewis
Jonathan Banks

NCB: Antoine Cason
Desmond Trufant

LOLB: Lavonte David
Victor Butler

LILB: Luke Kuechly
Paul Worrilow

RILB: Sean Weatherspoon
Curtis Lofton

ROLB: Thomas Davis
Junior Galette

Bill Parcells said he's the next Curtis Martin and KV32 sings his praises too...

Wishful thinking nonetheless!

Do you have Mike Evans over Colston, Vincent Jackson, and Roddy White, or am I reading this wrong?

Look, I get that you guys don't like the Falcons but Matt Ryan > Cam Newton. C'mon.

I do, and I don't have Colston on the list at all in fact. I may have reached a bit with the rookies, but I feel like Mike and Brandin are going to be studs in the league.

I agree. It's not even close. Cam is just hard to bring down and he can extend plays. He's a rather lousy QB.

I tried my hardest to make a list with all bias aside, I feel I did a good job with this.

It was a tough choice between the two, but if you're making a list to compete with other divisions, I decided to go with Cam for the change of pace, if nothing else.

Cam is most definitely not an elite passer, but neither is Ryan. Cam has the upper hand with his athleticism.

And trust me, as much as I hate the Falcons, I hate Cam as a player and person more.

I wouldn't put any rookies on here. We haven't seen them play.

They made the rules, but if that's the case, slide Vincent to WR2 and put Colston behind him.

Harry Douglas goes 1st team slot WR and behind him.... I guess put Jason Avant or Kenny Stills

I'm not going to lambast your selections because others are here to do that.

My issue is with your decision not to include the offensive and defensive lines.

Oh and Weatherspoon is out for the year.

Injuries aside, I said that in the OP.
I just didn't feel like working through Linemen, you guys can if you want. I focused on skill positions.

I respect the opinion of KV. He should know going against Robinson every day.

I don't see why you'd put rookies.

I'd have Lewis at #1 cb, Trufant at #2 cb, and Verner at NCB.

ETA: went by pff, which had Verner at #93, Trufant at #79, and Lewis at #49 in their top 101 players.

Why not?

I understand we've never seen them play, but it's just my prediction that they'll make an impact.
