Incorrect. No one is impressed that a higher percentage of just one country watches something.
That is like saying all of France watching some French program is more impressive than the entire world watching something else that is unrelated.

Not surprising at all futball is the most popular sport on the planet. Sorry if most on here don't get that. It's truly a universal sport.

Exactly, one sport involves teams from a single country playing a sport that is popular only in that country. The World Cup involves 32 teams from across the world playing the worlds most popular sport. Not a valid comparison IMO

There's only 32 teams in the World Cup.

just imainge what those numbers would be if the world cup hyped its commericals as the biggest spectacle of the event.

Nah not my loss, I'll watch the World Cup and some of the more important USA matches throughout the year. I'm just saying acting like you're better because you like soccer turns people off of soccer

There's probably as many commercials during the Super Bowl as there are during the entire World Cup.

yea but only half the nipple slips.
And while obviously both my comments were made for levity, they do kind of ring true. I don't know anyone that will tune into the world cup for the ancilliary stuff, which isn't the case for the super bowl. Both are great...world cup final is better though.

Not acting like I'm better.
I'm just saying I love watching the world cup and I'm not even a soccer fan, though I become one during the world cup because it is a lot of fun and exciting.

Honestly, both are equally impressive.
US Population is roughly 315 million. Superbowl was viewed by 111 Americans. Roughly 35% of Americans watched the Superbowl.
World Population in 2010 was 6.9 billion. People who watched the 2010 World Cup Final was 910 million according to the graphic. That's 13% of the World's population.
What if we take into account to over 95% of American households own a television. I would wager to say that less the 25% of World households own a television. What if 95% of the world had access to a television? I would wager that billions more would have been able to watch the World Cup final. A huge amount of the World's population is simply too poor to even watch the World Cup final.

I will also say me.living in Miami has influenced my perspective because I see the excitement first hand and all the watch parties from people originally from other countries here.

why does it say that one soccer ball = 1 million who viewed at least a minute. Maybe they should have done the same for the Super Bowl. Then the number for the Super Bowl would probably be quadrupled. still far less than the World Cup though
