This is huge for Tulane. Not only because Pierce is regarded as one of the best coaches nationally, but Tulane apparently agreed to all of his demands regarding structure and financial aid. It will be a lot easier for them to get the top players in school now.

So he left Sam Houston to go to Tulane? Why would SHSU let him go and why did he want to leave?

i was hoping MU would shite can TJ, and hire this guy. The connections to texas talent, and he can flat out coach.
unfortunately, Alden is a pinhead, and TJ will remain the coach.

Tulane has some history of success pretty facilities which can be improved. They can recruit nationally and LA has great baseball talent.
Not a Tulane fan but things are always more fun when Tulane has a decent team.

AAC > Southland
The better question is will he leave Tulane in a year or two when Wayne Graham retires?

Are you stupid? Tulane pays way more and has much better facilities. He can recruit nationally at Tulane. At SHSU he was pretty much only recruiting Texas and he wasn't getting the guys who Texas, Rice, TCU etc. wanted. Really just an all around dumb question.

Plus, in the AAC with Louisville leaving, it wouldn't take much to become the 2nd best team in the conference behind Houston. Tulane is a potential baseball power in that conference.
With the exception of his team at SHSU, the Southland is a auto-bid-only league.

You're right I did, I apologize.
Just seemed like a silly question, why do most college coaches leave? Better pay and it's a step up in terms of conference and just a better job.
