Pulled him with 1 out in the 7th inning of the Pepperdine series after a walk. Had allowed no hits at that point.
Pulled him in the 7th of the San Francisco series after allowing his first hit....

He was pulled because it was his longest outing of his career at that point. He is a converted position player who has never been stretch that far. He also took a no hitter into the 7th last weekend before giving up a single. ...

This is huge for Tulane. Not only because Pierce is regarded as one of the best coaches nationally, but Tulane apparently agreed to all of his demands regarding structure and financial aid. It will be a lot easier for them to get the top players in school now....

People forget that Rick Jones was in the top 15 nationally as far as pay goes. He was paid in line with what we see at the top of the SEC. If it comes down to money, I wouldn't be surprised if any one of those coaches jumped ship for Tulane.

My son got this in a text from a current player whom he graduated high school with.
"We were told our AD will offer the position to the Eastern Illinois head coach. He used to be an assistant here."
I believe he is referring to Mark Kingston from Illinois St who was an assistant on the 2005...

Heard from several Tulane boosters that they had began to form a search committee earlier this week and that the holdup is regarding Jones' buyout.
They are going to contact Mark Kingston and former LSU and current Ole Miss assistant Cliff Goodwin for sure.

Very shortsighted hire. Coach Salt has made no secret that he wants to get back into a private school eventually. He is also bringing his OC with him and they are going to try and run the option at Hahnville. Have fun with that....

I played against CJ in high school and have maintained a friendly relationship with him since then. I can tell you that Tulane is his dream job, but money talks. Right now his base is right under $450K. Tulane will definitely have to step up after this year....

According to one of their signees dad that I sat by tonight, Jones will step aside and take an administrative job inside the athletic department at the end of the year. The Tulane fans around us said they couldn't wait for this to happen....

Their starting weekend pitching is the talk of the scouting world right now. Baseball America did a write up about a week ago on them. All 3 starters have touched 95 with Rizzoti (sp) hitting 96 on the gun multiple times.

I saw last week where his favorite was Tulane, but CJ wouldn't offer him due to SEVERAL off the field issues. In fact, he had a few offers pulled from him because of this. Just shows you that anyone can get into ULL....

On a pay board so I won't post everything, but Riley was just quoted that he received a full scholarship for next year. No longer a grey shirt. It is now between LSU and Tulane. Judging by some of his tweets, they may have the lead....

Please don't go by rankings. Kenneth Santa Marina went from a 4 star recruit to a 3 star recruit when he verballed to Tulane.
Spears just went from 2 to 4 stars with his LSU verbal. That should tell you everything.
Tulane has a VERY good class coming in. Clark and Smith will end up signin...
