Thank you
I'm a Sushi Masa guy (mainly because I have a huge appetite) but I'll definitely give Yama a try. I've heard they have some tropical fish salad that is the truth...
Any idea what these are

I don't get the fascination with fish and mango...maybe my palette is jacked up. looks like imitation crab meat, roe, mango, avocado, sesame seeds, mayo-base sriracha sauce, and an eel like sauce.
ETA: Unless you're an OT-baller, having a huge appetite at Sushi Yama will make you cringe when you see the bill.

Wickowick, is there any way you can tell us the names of those dishes so that we can order them?
Of all he posted, they're all good, but the Little Rice Roll is amaaaaaaazing.
Keep in mind: the rolls at Yama are a different level than anywhere else in town, and the price reflects it. I think the Little Rice Roll is $17-$20.

I think this thread convinced me to drive to BR this Friday and get some Sushi Yama.

Have had this thread book marked for awhile, got sushi Yama to go tonight, we got 6 of the rolls on this thread, and man it was awesome.
I think I have been converted into this being my favorite place now

You really seem to have an affinity for fake krab.
Also, not sure why they would call it an Okinawa roll since no chef in their right mind in Okinawa would remotely consider combining various fish into the same dish/roll. Unlike Chinese food where a happy family mixes various proteins, it's against Japanese culinary rules to combine various proteins as the focus is intended to be on each individual fish. When you combine three different kinds of fish and toss in fake krab to boot, it's sort of defeating the purpose. Then again, some people enjoy well done filets with steak sauce. To each their own.
The pics show some nice quality food however. I hope you got the fried head with that sweet shrimp tail. It's the best part.
When Tsunami opened, they were touted as the best thing since sliced bread. Now, not many people mention them.
Again, as far as best sushi, Oi at Sushi Yama is the correct answer.

Not the best but I still think Waka house is best value and really like their sauces they mix with the rolls.
