During his nearly six-minute tirade, Matthew Stevens referred to Cajuns fans–as well as the general population of Lafayette–as being unintelligible and hard to understand, mentioning several times that “I can’t understand these people when they talk. I can pick out words and sentences, and I think I can figure it out. It goes over my head.” Stevens also suggested Lafayette “is the worst place in America.” Read More: Mississippi State Bulldogs Sports Radio Calls Lafayette Trip 'Worst Experience Ever' |

A co-host also suggested that the Cajuns were the “missing link” in the evolutionary chain between apes and humans.

at least one Mississippi State Bulldogs fan–who apparently is a sports “journalist” for the Commercial Dispatch in Columbus, Miss.–referred to his trip to Lafayette, La. as the “worst experience I’ve ever had as a beat writer. Worst. Worst.”
Dude from the thriving metropolis of Columbus, MS talking shite about Lafayette

Lafayette sucks, but I'd much rather live there than Columbus, MS.

So a I guy that follows the school from Starkville, Mississippi finds Lafayette unlivable?

If I had to claim to be from Mississippi, I'd be pretty damn mad at the world also.

Nah. I'm from NOLA and decided to stay in the Lafayette area after graduating from USL back in the early 90's. Sure, a large percentage of their sports fans suck dick at world class levels, but the only issue with Lafayette on any general level is still a fairly strong big fish in a small pond mentality.
As compared to NOLA, Lafayette folks are about as abrasive as tissue paper.

Not enough trailers in city limits I guess.

Actually not too many people in Lafayette have a cajun dialect. You have to go out into rural Acadiana for that.

Because Starkville is a mecca of culture and innovation.
