We are doing Muriel's for brunch Sunday. I'll check on Eat.
Is it really THAT bad?

Don't watch it. Just do yourself a favor and go hug the toilet and ram a finger down your throat. You'll accomplish the same thing and you won't have to actually see the nightmare fuel.

Domenica has great pizza in addition to other dishes. Do they not eat pizza?

I've never eaten at Oceana, but I saw the show and won't be going there. Mandina's is casual, has a huge menu with seafood and other dishes. Something for everyone. Take the Canal streetcar there and back for fun. It can handle a group like yours and fits the bill. I recommend it a lot for bachelorette groups and it always works well.

SoBou would be awesome for y'all.

Oceana is literally one of the single worst places in town. It's laughably bad.

I have watched 5 minutes of this place, and I must say you have got to stop your friend from going there as soon as possible

Domenica is fairly casual and it's pizza.

So you need a new dinner spot, I'm guessing...

God, I hope so. I'd probably be better off eating a Lucky Dog!

There are so many great seafood spots in this city, why someone would choose a complete and total shithole like Oceana is beyond me.

Refer your friend to this thread.

The amazing part is Oceana gets like 3.5+ starts on every review website out there. Have any of us ever been?

Napoleon went a while ago and said the fried seafood was alright.

In a former life, I was caught in the middle of a building dispute involving the biz adjacent to Oceana (that was being funded by the Oceana crew, but I digress). I spent plenty of time next door and checking out the place.

If you eat there, you are making a huge mistake. I am just going to leave it at that.

I went there once a long time ago. I also had it brought for lunch when I served on jury duty.

It is awful.

I sent her the link to the YouTube video. She has politely declined to eat at Oceana! Thanks for that, y'all! Trying to pitch Domenica. I sent her the menu for Sylvain to make sure that's ok. She said the party should be around 7-10, would they be able to seat a group that size together?

Don't ask me. I'm apparently a horrible judge of that.

Lol, why do you say that?

She said she wants to do something really casual Friday night. Are there any, like, Jazz bars that serve food? Or something along those lines?

Has anyone ever done one of the cooking classes around town before?

You could go to Three Muses, they have yazz and food and it is very casual.
