Agreed. Suggesting that Minnesota shouldn't have an NBA team is ridiculous

Well there is the huge bump in taxes, and cost of living.

Minnesota has to be at the bottom of states you want to live. Right there with North and South Dakota and Maine.

Important thing to remember: Even if Love is traded and opts in for 2015/16, he has no reason to sign an extension with any team under the new CBA. He will almost certainly become an UFA either next summer or the following one.

That is a hell of a risk for a team giving away quality assets for Love. If you don't make some noise, he can walk for nothing.

Also, if he does opt in, both he and Durant will be UFA in 2016

Will any championship he wins be invalidated if he signs on to a team with any talent?

We don't have to worry about that with the Knicks and Lakers.

Minnesota has more people than Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, South Carolina, Kentucky, and West Virginia, among other states. So a lot of people must like it enough. It also has a higher per capita income than the states I just listed and it has a higher proportion of it's population with a college degree than those states listed.

So unless you are a pussy who can't stand cold weather it is nowhere near the bottom.

I thought that too until I moved here. Tons to do, beautiful lakes, and the weather is awesome May-November. Sucks all kinds of arse Dec-March, but lots of people love the snow up here. Plus a lot of Fortune 500 companies, low crime, and great schools. Basically the opposite of Louisiana (including attractiveness of women and flavor of food)

Cleveland had the same amount of time to trade lebron.

What world do you live in? Cleveland got word that he wasn't returning 10 minutes before he went on national television.

I grew up in a suburb of Minneapolis and you're right. A lot of good jobs, cost of living wasn't high, and my public school was one of the best in the country. It does get dangerously cold but the cities there are prepared for it and if you want to go outside just layer up. Great fishing too. If I didn't have such a large group of family and friends where I'm at I would move back in a heartbeat.

Well minny hasn't been able to manage their way out of a paper bag and pretty much picked rubio over him.

It's somewhat justified in his case

There is another team I'd put before them though. Bucks for one.

Bucks got sold for 500+ mil so they ain't going anywhere and they have a fairly solid young core.

Charlotte is a pretty awful team as well that's horribly mismanaged.

Yet won 45 games and made the playoffs. They have a solid coach as well. They're really not doormats anymore.

New Orleans is on that list as well.A pretty clear indication is getting uppers for $2-3 a piece during week games. Courtside for $100 except when the Lakers or Heat come to town.

During the first 2 months of the year(football season) people care more about saints/LSU/friday night football than the pels. They were averaging about 17K for attendence (sellout is 18.5 i think) so that's not bad at all. Not sure why you're taking a shot at the Pels.

My Orlando Magic are a small market but it's Disney World and people there apparently have money. I've never seen an upper for less than $40-50.

OK?

They also have the oldest arena in the NBA and some really bad contracts like OJ Mayo's. If any team in the NBA is going to get moved it will likely be them.

I think part of the sale had to do with building a new arena.

Yeah I was talking about contracting(which cajun somewhat implied)

They'll be alright if they get rid of one of those contracts and hit it in the draft.

I hope they don't go the expansion route before they find a way to address the disparity between the conferences.

An expansion draft in our current social media world would be pretty damn entertaining though

based on what and for what reason? i can't understand why they couldn't find one rich local to buy the team to attempt to keep the team there long enough to get a new arena. if the smaller markets can fight to keep their team why couldn't they?

The Sonics sort of got screwed in the whole situation. The man who had bought the team promised to keep them in Seattle.

A Seattle group actually put together a massive deal to buy the Kings last season, but I the NBA stepped in IIRC.
