Lin and Asik both expire next season. So does parsons(maybe). Parsons will be unrestricted next year if Houston doesn't pay him this year. I think the only way Minnesota would take him is if he wouldn't hit the market next year.

Do you think Morey would consider flipping Asik to Milwaukee for Larry Sanders?
I know Milwaukee would make that deal b/c of the expiring but I think Sanders would be a great fit on the right team.
ETA: I suspect Houston could do better than that with the Asik expiring, but I'm fascinated by who tries to make Sanders their reclamation project - he's got legit top 10 big talent if he's healthy and motivated.
I'd actually like to see the Pellies take a flyer on him if they could get Milwaukee to bite on one of our terrible contracts (Gordon or Evans).

Will any championship he wins be invalidated if he signs on to a team with any talent?

the Lakers would still have to attract another star and fill out the roster to be competitive in the west

Harder than you probably think

Yea Sanders was great 2 seasons ago. Not so much this past season. If he gets it together he would be a great paring with Davis.
I'd think Houston would try to get more for Asik than someone who would only be playing 15 minutes/game. I wouldn't mind keeping Asik through next year, he's a really solid player and it looks like he CAN be on the court with Howard although I don't think Houston would want to do that except for when they're playing a handful of teams..
How about Asik for Gordon straight up?

Love isn't the best player in the league, that's the difference. I'd expect more from a guy who at the end of his career will be in the discussion for best player ever. James joining with Wade/Bosh making a super team will hold him back from being GOAT.

I don't blame him. Minnesota shouldn't have a NBA team to begin with. This is the same franchise that managed to waste 2/3rds of Kevin Garnetts career.
There is another team I'd put before them though. Bucks for one.
Charlotte is a pretty awful team as well that's horribly mismanaged.
New Orleans is on that list as well.A pretty clear indication is getting uppers for $2-3 a piece during week games. Courtside for $100 except when the Lakers or Heat come to town.
My Orlando Magic are a small market but it's Disney World and people there apparently have money. I've never seen an upper for less than $40-50.

Another contender planning aggressive play for a Kevin Love trade, sources tell Yahoo: Houston. Kevin McHale has strong bond with Love.
A contender is a contender.
A contender is a contender.

Kidding aside, I would LOVE (no pun intended) for OKC to trade Ibaka and a pick/another piece for K-Love. But it would drop our defense slightly and increase payroll.
Still would be awesome. Plus Russ and K-Love are boys having played together at UCLA.

WTF do the Lakers, Knicks, or Bulls really have to trade for Love?
The Lakers absolutely have nothing good to send back.
The Knicks would not let go of their current pieces.
The Bulls will not let go of Rose or Noah.

This is the most idiotic logic that has gained traction on this board.

The only somewhat realistic trades I've seen thought up were the lottery pick, Pau, and future picks. The Lakers can't even really take on any awful contracts back

As a Timberwolves fan, at least Love has had the courtesy to tell the team in no uncertain terms that he's out a year in advance. They screwed the pooch when they didn't make him a max player with a max contract. They compounded the error by drafting 3 point guards, and keeping the worst of them; they compounded it by being a tad too aggressive in resigning Pekovic; they compounded it by having the worst training staff in the league that couldn't keep key support pieces on the court all year.
I had hopes the Adleman-Love combo would lift the team back out of the mire of the Western conference, but that side of the league is simply too deep, and the lack of crunch time scoring options other than Love too pronounced.
I'm hoping that this early deadline means they'll get back at least 60 cents on the dollar for dealing Love. The best candidates for that are the Lakers, in desperation, or Houston, which has real options (albeit not the draft picks) that might make a decent trade partner.
Anyway. It is a rough time to be a Wolves fan.

The NBA took away five first rounds pick from the Timberwolves for the Joe Smith incident

Two different situations. Love is at least giving management time to trade him so they get something in return

There is more NBA history in Minneapolis/St. Paul than there is in 3/4ths of the league.
It deserves a franchise.
It deserves a franchise.
