My parents have an 11 year old golden retriever that has only barked twice in his life.

A rescue mix something. Border Collie mostly. He kinda grunts but that's it

Grew up with many border collies, they literally rarely bark

Eta: Tried to train a couple of them to run deer for fun, problem is they run through the woods and don't make any noise, kinda defeats the purpose. Also, I don't know how to train dogs to run deer.

I have a lab/English springer spaniel mix and it barks maybe once a month - I wouldn't worry about it.

I have an 8 year old Border Collie who has never barked or growled. You can't piss him off. He licks the vet when he gets his shots.

Why, a dog that doesn't bark isn't much of a dog at'all!

My aunt has a mix all black dog, looks like a black golden retriever. It doesn't bark, 'whistles' a little, but doesn't bark
