I told my kid "this is why we have a bunker, it's a sign of societal collapse"

He took it pretty well

I probably would have done the same thing. They are too young to comprehend what's going on there. I have nothing against gays, but I also don't want it shoved in my face and having to explain it to my kid before he's ready.

And yet millions of years of biology says differently. This is what I love about PC speak. It's quite stupid.

Just tell him that Michael sam has the gay virus and that when he was your sons age, his parents didn't beat it out of him like they were supposed to. So now he's stuck hooking up with dudes on national tv

It's not about answering the "tough" questions. At 5 years old, they shouldn't even have to be exposed to those types of things. It's just difficult to explain in a way to where they understand. I know my son, I'll try to give him a simple explanation, but then he will bombard me with 15 more questions

Bash the OP all you want for his view but you only make an arse of yourself when you insult a 5 year old child.

Just tell them. Be honest with them. They understand more than you give them credit for.

I'm a strong believer in being open with children about grown up problems. I hate to use sheltering as a word here because this is far from it, but that is the path some parents choose, and I've seen it do way more harm than good.

Expose them yourself, and expose them controlled and honestly and they will be better adults later in life.

This goes for most problems/situations.

Gays make up less than 5% of the population. They get too much attention.

I wish people were more concerned about how fabulous I am.
