Not saying he is one of the best all-time but Trey Hodges was a good one. Outstanding player of 2000 CWS.
Hodges was pretty bad until late in the season--maybe even as late as the SEC Tournament. He was coming off of an injury and it took him a while to find his stuff. We would not have won the 2000 CWS without him, but he shouldn't be mentioned in a conversation about best of all time.

Exactly why I had to remove him from my list.
But just for argument's sake...

Which is why I mentioned him and qualified that he may not be one of the best all-time. He did make it to the bigs with the Braves. But I H8 the Braves.

ben McDonald in game 1, russ springer game 2 was legit (both games were on sat back then for you youngsters). dan kite on sunday. he was solid enough but, you already had 2 wins so, there's that.

Wasn't Lloyd Peever the one who caught a comeback liner with his head and was out cold for like 4 days?

Mestepey's stats are messed up. He played 4 seasons. Fix them.

Jason Determan was the fricking man btw

Favorites were
Coleman - 2009 title because of him. And he did everything he could to help us win, didnt care about his arm.
Mestepay - probably a top 3 pitcher in lsu history his 1st and 2nd years. Shame the overuse and arm injury killed his career
Sirotka - didnt he start 2 cws games in 91 with a day of rest in between? Bulldog.
Yarnall - awesome slurve, incredible stuff during roid era
Nola- obvious
Cotton - didnt have the biggest arm or most talent, but missed bats and dominated for 2 years.

Pitching on a sunday protecting a 1 run lead

Sirotka was a freshman in 1991, as the third starter he went undefeated. In 1993, he carried that pitching staff on his back. Laxton gets a lot of love for his title game performance, but Sirotka was far and away the ace of that team. He beat Long Beach St twice to get us to the finals. But not on back to back days.

Took a shot off the head against I think Ole Miss. It was scary as hell.
