What is the single greatest feat by any person in sports?
Johnny Vandermeer back to back no hitters.
Nothing else compares.

Off the top of my head I'd say Ted Williams' streak.

It was a great feat AND will NEVER be [even] Tied let alone broken. But its a generation kinda thing... Pedro could have thrown prob 3-4 straight no-hitters had he played back then...

Michael Phelps gold medals total and in one Olympics.

Considering the way he played, Brett Favre not missing a single start from 1992-mid 2010 is flat out amazing. I rank this higher than Ripken's streak.
In 1938, boxer Henry Armstrong held world titles at featherweight, lightweight and welterweight....all at the same time.

Do you think Wilt could have done all he accomplished with the same birth defect The Pistol had?
Pistol's autopsy revealed the cause of death to be a rare congenital defect; he had been born with a missing left coronary artery, a vessel which supplies blood to the muscle fibers of the heart.
Actually the fact Pistol Pete was able to run up and down the court playing basketball at a professional level might be the greatest feat so far mentioned in this thread.

I'm aware of that. I loved Maravich back in my day. It still doesn't make his 3 years at LSU the single greatest feat in sports or even close.
I think it's Thorpes Olympics without question.
As far as team sports and numbers, Gretsky, Ruth, Chamberlain and Jim Brown are dominant. Maybe throw in Otto Graham, 10 years, 10 title games, 7 Championships.
Don Hutsons receiving numbers are the most dominant ever in the NFL.
