What is the insulation situation on these? Doesn't seem like any.

Only in a cool enviornment, otherwise why would you want to sleep in an outhouse that was hot as hell.
Also, with all the mods and the glass, cutting, welding, etc. What did he save? Wasn't the one with Dumont on the side in a movie? The guy from TRON on something?

Installing a window takes a plasma cutter
Posted on 5/6/14 at 1:34 pm to Cracker
So the guy saving trying to save money by buying shipping containers is going to have a plasma cutter handy. Also, you think he had a Plasma cutter where that one is set up? If anything he had a target saw and a grinder. If not, the company sets it up, he didn't save anything. He probably also paid a premium for some retard to tell hm it was green. So tack on 30% for someone elses recycled junk.

Someone should take two crews and set up a competition.
1 crew frames and dry's in a house planned like one of these.
2nd crew cuts windows/modifies container to be liveable to specs.
I bet the carpenters win.

Anyone know the price/sqft vs a traditionally built house?
Posted on 5/6/14 at 1:45 pm to upgrayedd
I think you can get a container for like $3k.
IDK about mod's you would need and cost.
But a stick frame house can be built for around $75-$100/sf
