Other than people who are competing in Olympic style lifting, that shite doesn't benefit anyone.

I could see how this lift could benefit a free safety unloading on a WR in the middle of the field or say a basketball player going up for a rebound in traffic.

Stuff like cleans and snatches give you so much extra strength it's unbelievable. It changes everything. I don't consider myself in shape unless it's in the routine.
The girl in the gif shouldn't be doing snatches. You can tell from just looking at her that she shouldn't be doing them.

Explosion.
The lift is designed to train/enhance the fast twitch muscle fibers resulting in more explosiveness. Same as a power clean.
