The other would be Jack shooting at the helicopters fuel tank and blowing it up. Series finale. The end.
Maybe Jack's buddy taking out the helicopter with all of them in it instead

The ending makes me believe that there will be another season. If there was even doubt about it, I don't think they would've ended it like that. My guess is everyone is on board for another season.

Season 10. Kate in Russia trying to find Jack.

It will be absolutely pointless if that's the last we hear of Audrey/Heller/Boudreau. The writers can't get over this juvenile shock value schtick. I for one wanted to see Boudreau get some sort of redemption or reconciliation with Jack and Audrey).
Agree totally. I was hoping for Boudreau to get some sort of redemption. I just don't like leaving Jack like this. I would've rather seen a family reunion with his fine arse daughter.

The egg spoiled Edgar styles' death, so jack lopped off his dad's head.

I agree, they left that one open for another Day

I mean a foreign country wanting jack b/c of him killing a embassy official.
They wanted him because of all the Russian officials he killed in season 8 while going rogue after Logan. That's sorta what the entire Russian/Boudreau angle this season was about. Had nothing to do with the embassy official from this season.
I get it that they've done this before with the Chinese, but I don't get all the hate about it.

I had the same thought

This isn't the type of show to have a happy ending

The fact that I have always found Audrey terribly annoying took a lot of the punch out of this finale for me.
I couldn't have cared less.

Good season overall. Thought it started out decent, not anything special, but had a crescendo up to the final two or three episodes before the finale, which I thought were awesome. I thought the finale was strong, but not spectacular, especially because the final scene was a bit of a letdown. The only redeeming quality to the final scene (and I'm sure this is why the writers did it this way, because they definitely could have thought up something better) was it leaves open the door to another season.
ETA: And along with that, it's going to be REALLY disappointing now if there ends up not being another season and/or movie, because then this ending would move from letdown to terrible. 24 needs to end with Jack dying, being reunited with Kim, or an ending like Season 8 where he disappears into the sunset. If the last we see of Jack Bauer is him simply handing himself over to the Russians, that'd be a big letdown for the way the series comes to a conclusion.

It was such a weak final scene that I think they already have another season planned. If there was even a question as to whether there would be another season, I have to believe they would've done something better.
Very entertaining season though. I thought the 12 show format was great.

I agree jack should die on the last episode. he deserves peace

Good eta. That's exactly how I feel. If this was truly the end of the series I feel let down.

I agree. I actually thought at first that was what was going to happen.
And I will add even though the final scene was a letdown, I did like that intimate moment between Chloe and Jack there, where he admitted she really his best friend, and this was a sacrifice for her. Especially after earlier in the season when he said he didn't have any friends. I liked that type of character development from Jack. Shows a more human side and he's not just some robot.

Yea, Jack Bauer has become the poster child for a tragic hero. Even a reuniting with his family isn't the right ending for him. The only ending for Jack that'll seem right is death. The problem is it's such a definitive end to a series that the producers have to be certain they've milked 24 for everything they can before they pull it off.

So Jack was about to eat a bullet in the stairwell, correct?
