Literally no way that happens.

It would kill the team.

I'm not sure of this. You are aware that Stern took 5 1st round picks from the Timberwolves for illegal contact with a player, right?

This episode goes way beyond that infraction.

That was a violation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement which all teams are supposed to follow, which is why the penalties were so harsh.

This is an owner being a fricking bonehead in his personal life.

I agree that they should be shaming Sterling in some way, but forcing an outright sale of the team or voiding all the players' contracts, when they KNEW what a scumbag this guy was before (re)signing there, is horseshite.

About the only people on that roster who didn't make a conscious choice to be there are DeAndre Jordan and Jared Dudley, as Jordan's RFA tender that he signed was matched by the Clippers while Dudley was part of the Eric Bledsoe / JJ Reddick deal.

There's no competitive advantage gained from his comments. Pushing the guy to sell the team because he makes the league look bad is one thing, but killing his $600m+ franchise because they don't like his opinions is much worse than what Sterling did.

No it doesn't.

In terms of the letter of the law, what the T-Wolves did then is WAY worse than what Sterling just did.

No it doesn't. He said some mildly racist things to a mistress in a private conversation.

He deserves to be out of the league, but this is just so fricking ridiculous at this point.
