All joking aside, Harden is a very good player. He'd be a great player if he even tried to play defense.

We're seeing now how much the sketchy calls in his favor helped them out all year.

There are as many current/former all-stars on the Pels as there are on the Rockets. One team finished with the 4th best record in the conference and the other finished with the 4th worst record in the conference.

Your 6 best players combined for 421 games of a potential 492 (85.6%). 26 of those games were missed by your better defensive PG Beverley, but one of your two all stars.

The Pelicans' 5 best players combined for 259 games of a potential 410 (63.2%).

Big difference. If the team was healthy with the same results, I would say yeah we suck, but the team wasn't healthy all year.

We had a dleague player start as our PG for 3/4 of the season before a moronic coach decided to throw his 2nd best player available into the starting lineup.

you can post all the stats you want, none of those stats measure the ability to lead a team and the ability to make your teammates better. Harden LEAD the youngest team in the whole league to the playoffs last year and this year they are still the youngest or 2nd youngest team in the playoffs even with the addition of Howard. NBA games are competitive enough that one player can make a HUGE difference between winning and losing. Sorry bro I can't put a guy in my top 5 whose team doesn't make the playoffs when over half of the league does.

Hey it's championship or bust for the Rockets franchise

What year is this?...it hasn't been "championship or bust" for the Rockets in nearly two decades.

He was probably shitting diapers the last time the Rockets sniffed a championship.

That team would've had a decent shot at the playoffs which is a lot better than the team has done since then. Since it seems the goal is playoff appearances I don't think the fanbase would be all that disappointed.

They'd have been an extremely mediocre team with little chance to improve. Now we have a true star to build around.

HOUSTON turned a similar core into Howard/Harden. Although I don't think there are many GMs outside of HOU who could've pulled off what Morey did.

So, he turned mediocre into mediocre. The second round is still out of reach.

we'll see at the end of game 7. I don't think you'll be popping into any Rockets threads til they drop their first game in rd 2.

Yeah, the guy who had one year left before unrestricted free agency when the deal was nixed.

How do you know he'd have re-signed with us? And yeah, I'd rather have Anthony Davis than Dragic.

And and there's not a shot in hell y'all win 3 straight against the Blazers. Sorry bro.

Maybe he wouldn't have, but wouldn't that have freed up room for the team to improve? Anything would be better than the mess of a contract you guys ended up with Gordon.

hindsight is 20/20 isn't it?

At the time getting him, he was an all-star fringe player in exchange for our franchise player who wanted his way out for numerous reasons (sure we also got a 1st rounder from 'sota and other misc pieces.)

What should we have done?

Let him walk for close to nothing? That would be saying we gave up our franchise for nothing in that trade. It isn't something you can do without major backlash.
