Hawthorne, time to ride off into the sunset.

He started as the voice of the Tigers the same year I entered as a freshman. Like me, he came from Shreveport, where he was the voice of the Centenary Gents. He has taken a lot of abuse over the years, and I love the guy. But it's time to hang it up.
He is easily confused. Hanagriff repeatedly corrects him (politely). When we made the last out of the game, Hawthorne said, "And that retires the side." Huh.
Give baseball to Charlie, and make a ceremonial offer to Tim Brando for football (he will decline). Then get some ace in here. Give Jim lifetime tickets to the AD suite and set him up with all the hookers he can handle. It's time.

I say we let Jim keep doing the games and give me the rest of those things.

He was talking like it was just the end of a normal inning for about 10 seconds before he realized it was the end of the game

I've read some really idiotic things on this site, but that ranks up near the top of dumb statements. Why in the hell would we offer that douche anything?

Get a life bro. If this is what consumes your thoughts time to reevaluate.
If you're that upset, start calling the sponsors.

I love the excitement he has, but the facts of a game are more important. During a FB game, I have no clue wth is going on

Agreed. I love Charlie but he can be a bit dull sometimes. Hawthorne gets stuff wrong more than Charlie, but he's much more exciting to listen to.

Well it did retire the side.

If this really happened, he needs to be re evaluated. That is a joke and I have never heard of any announcer doing that. Wow.

And we were up 9-4, so it was not a dramatic moment. There are a lot of legitimate complaints about Hawthorne and I wish he'd retire, but people also just make up shite to complain about so they can join the circle jerk
