Any OT'ers ever vacation in Turkey?

Me and the wifey would like to go there on vacation sometime in the near future (next 2-3 years).
Have any of y'all been there?
How was it?
Where did you go?
Would you bring children?
We are both closet archeologists so this feels as if it would be an awesome experience.
TIA

I haven't personally been but I have a few friends who have independently of each other and both raved about the experience.

I took a ferry from Rhodes to Marmaris. Taxi to Dalaman airport to Istanbul.
Istanbul was cool, but was only there on a long weekend. Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque are VERY COOL STORY BRO.
Didn't get to see the archaeological sites on the peninsula near Izmir and all that, but its a fascinating country.
They don't speak English very well like the Greeks, be prepared.
Would highly recommend going.

Father in law absolutely loves it. He is from Lebanon and has been there a few times.

Turkey is highly recommended. If you want something a little less greasy, Dubrovnik. Can't go wrong in Dalmatia

I have been to the ruins of the ancient city of Ephesus in Turkey.
I recommend it.

I just went on a trip to Istanbul with my girlfriend during Christmas. We loved it! Very cool place. We got lucky with the weather..if you go, I recommend going during the summer. But it might be more crowded.
