Well, if you prefer supporting someone who assaulted young girls to someone whose cow grazed on those sweet lush Nevada fields, go right ahead.

Oooh...the Zero Tolerance, All or Nothing approach.
The tyranny of the thoughtless SAMENESS of everything.
It is lazy and weak
Silliness.

I don't remember seeing where Bundy's cattle claimed that he was sexually molesting them. Guess we know now why some of the cattle were killed. BLM told Bossie and her buds - no testify, we shoot.

I don't see in the article, but why are they seizing the land...
I know he was convicted and all that jazz, but what rights do they have to take the land? Shouldn't it go to his next of kin?

The state asked a judge to allow the forfeiture, alleging that FLDS leaders financed a $1.1 million purchase of the land in 2003 through money laundering. It also cited sexual assaults committed on the property. Under Texas law, authorities can seize property that was used to commit or facilitate certain criminal conduct. A judge granted the state's request in January. -

The statement noted that the state on January 6 secured a forfeiture judgment from the 51st Judicial District Court. Efforts to seize the property were initiated in 2012 by the Attorney General's Office.
"Law enforcement personnel are working with the occupants of the ranch to take all reasonable actions to assist with their departure of the property, to preserve the property, and to successfully execute the court order," the DPS said.
Criminal forfeiture judgements are quite common. They are taking the property to sell it to pay fines and restitution, I would guess.

Because there's nothing the protest. The guy was convicted of a crime and the state seized it because it was bought with money he made while committing crimes.

usually they just take it, to take it. they claim it was purchased with illegal monies, typically
police departments love seizing people's property. it's pretty gross and a huge grey market created by the terrible WOD

Nope...they are taking it because they can.
Criminal forfeiture statutes are one of the most oft abused and freedom destroying tactics that the government has at its disposal.

Someone will probably get this property at a bargain at auction.

You have to ask? No intelligent response would quiet you, as you would be unable to understand.

Ok, understandable

That is fricking stupid IMO
So if I rent my property out to tenants and they decide to turn it into a Meth lab, the state can come take my property because it was used to facilitate criminal conduct?
I know I know, extreme case, but nonetheless, they have the power to

I believe the property has to be owned by the person who did the act. Otherwise nobody would rent property to anyone for fear that an unknown criminal act would cause the loss of their property.
