Anyone here have one of these in your neighborhood? Been to one? Like it?

quote:

Wal-Mart, which is ramping up openings of its smaller stores nationwide, apparently plans to open as many as four in Ouachita Parish either late this year or in 2015.

Though the company won’t confirm its plans for Ouachita, a Monroe developer said he has a deal to sell land to Wal-Mart for one store, while local government permitting officials said preliminary plans have been submitted for unidentified “proposed grocery stores” at two other locations.

There is one in Baton Rouge not far from me.

It's OK.

Yep. Kind of like a Whole Foods, but not as uppity.

I always shop there. Walmart prices, less water trash. Not as big of a selection though.

Been to the one on Coursey in BR.

It's alright. It doesn't have some food items that I want because of the smaller size, though.

When I lived on Coursey I went to the one nearby, it was pretty legit. Better than walking through a huge arse walmart when all you need is food.

Have one and we are doing our best to put it out of business. It's no better than a grocery store but with the same filtered brands (only carry what they get their deals on). Would much rather have something else there. Don't know how the damn store stays open since no one is ever there.

We almost had one put in near Williams Brice, but the neighborhood fought it until they pulled out.

They match the local competition and are priced higher than a Walmart supercenter.

The salsa is really good there.

The manager at the one on Highland wears Bama stuff all the time.

I don't go there anymore.

It used to be the only shopping I could handle. Today I went to Trader Joes for the first time and realized that I never have to step foot in a Wal Mart again for groceries.

I like them. If people don't like them because there's wal mart in the title then.. there's no hope for them.

If only a grocery store wouldn't accept food stamps.

Imagine how short the lines would be.

I went to the one in BR when it first opened for all my grocery shopping and I really liked it. I am sure its a piece of shite now like every other fricking Wal Mart.
