I took this pic kneeling on the end line in 09 when Tebow came on the field for the first time after his concussion, and I could not believe how much louder at field level it was than in the stands!

'95 at home vs top 10 ranked Auburn was deafening when Troy Twillie picked off a pass on the final play of the game to seal the 12-6 win. That released 6 yrs of frustrating losses w/ games frequently lost in the waning minutes. Finally, LSU had beaten a ranked team at home instead of finding a way to lose once again.

From the games I have attended:
Loudest sustained: UGA '03
Loudest moment: UF '07
Loudest pregame: UFvin '07 or '09...I was in the student section and it was so loud I could not hear the band

2007 Florida was fricking nuts and I wasn't even in the stadium. We tailgated at the Indian Mounds and those of us that didn't make it into the stadium were watching it on TV at the tailgate. The beauty of that spot was that with the TV delay, we could hear the crowd's reaction to whatever happened before it aired and everyone would know to shut the frick up and watch the TV because something awesome this way comes. That announcement happened during a timeout and that crowd lost its shite and just kept going and going and going through the timeout and we were just sitting there staring at each other wondering what the hell could have possibly happened during a timeout to get that crowd that loud for that long. I wasn't in TS, but it was hands down the loudest I've ever heard the crowd from outside the stadium.
I always wondered what this experience was like for those tailgating just outside the stadium not knowing what was going on. Great post.
ETA: I've been on a goosebump high since this thread began. Does anyone know if there is video of this entire game available somewhere? I would love to rewatch it.

Then they won. What a boring game that was.
Fricking game. I remember when I came back to Florida, I was asked a thousand times, why didn't Russell Shepard get any touches. Riley Cooper pushed off in that fricking TD
He didn't just push off, he pushed the LSU DB to the ground......no call. Unfrickingbelievable.
If the refs call OPI, it is probably 3-3 at halftime and a different game...
One of only two losses in DV since Ole Miss game of '08. (We GAVE the '12 SkoalDroolDetergentHead game away.)

Yeah, was at that 95 AU game was intense entire time. Recall CL darn near threw a pick 6 and think AU db dropped it or would have run back for td! (shade of 04 debacle) But yes that final series was nuts!

I'm sure he called our guy the N word while he did it too!

The score announcement was crazy, long, loudness. The louder moment (though shorter-lived) was when we pulled ahead of Florida.
Then again, I was in the front row in the end zone screaming so I'm not totally sure I heard it as well as the people on the sidelines or higher up

Two of my favorite plays/reactions were from the same game because the plays just were so slow developing and the crowd reaction grew and grew throughout the play.
1997 vs Florida.
LINK
2:36 mark, Herb's 40 yard TD run TO THE SHORT SIDE OF THE FIELD
then Donaldson's INT at the 3:08 mark 9I love Chuck Wiley's reaction.)
Each TD that night was something special. Anyone who was around for those early 90s UF beat downs just has a special place in their hearts for '97.
BUT, 2007 vs UF was insane, and not overblown or misconceived at all.

Yeah, was at that one and very special, we had squeaked by Vandy 7-6 week before and the Diesel was hurt. Also, at the following week a mediocre OM team comes in and brings back down to Earth!
That was GD, "bring the magic back", but every other week!

People talking about the 2012 JC Copeland play in the Bama game forget about Landry's go ahead TD with a few minutes left.

2009 Arkansas missed FG in OT was very loud. Especially since we came off the botched game against Ole Miss, and drove down the field to bring it to OT. Tejada shanked it into the student section. I will never forget that moment.

Yeah, that one hurt. I'm getting aggravated typing about it.

nah the copeland run was better. you knew we were actually taking it to bama at that point. that play made up for his personal foul to me.
fun fact: our offense was so predictable under stud (although it actually helped that game b/c saban had no idea we'd change it up and throw most 1st downs), i told my brother from the west upper that i knew we were going to landry on a double-move flag route b/c he was all alone on the outside and we did the same play to boone vs. aTm... the whole stadium stood an inch taller after that play

People also forget at the beginning of the 4th quarter the whole team ran towards the student section. Being in the student section it was absolute chaos

Brah, if you leave out the 2001 Auburn game that was rescheduled because of 9/11 with the winner going to Atlanta along with the 2OT Tennessee game, you list is shite.

Much smaller stadium back then, bruh. No way 79,000 fans there were louder than 92,000 in later years.

this is a myth.
i sat in the east upper for bama '12 and couldn't tell how loud it was until colin cowherd gushed about it later in the week. the majority of people up there don't get loud except for TD's and critical 3rd downs.
it's just not how sound works... the decks trap in sound from the lower bowl a little bit, but they don't overhand for the extra echos. 1/2 the sound from a yell in the upper deck travels up and out of the stadium and the other half diffuses before ever reaching the field, and like i said it might make more of a difference if the uppers were loud for the sake of being loud, but they just aren't.

the blocked kick in 08 is the single most loudest moment I've ever heard in my life. I'll never forget that moment....based on the loudness...and the smell of bourbon EVERYWHERE .
I also sat in my seat for 15 minutes after the game ended in disbelief.
