Take a deep breath and edit that out. I'm on your side but comments like that are uncalled for.

You ready to carry your arse out of New Jersey?
Because I'm pretty certain there were Indians there, too.

The usual theory of the settlement of the Americas is that earliest ancestors of the peoples of the Americas came from Eurasia over a land bridge which connected the two continents across what is now the Bering Strait during a period of glaciation, when the sea water level was lower. The number and nature of these migrations is uncertain but the land bridge is believed to have existed only until about 12,000 years ago, when the land bridge was flooded.

With a title deed in his hands it is not federal lands you dumbass. Texas has gladly received property taxes from his family for decades and Oklahoma has never raised a peep about it and I think they still recognize the border between it and Texas as being valid in fact. This is another act of the BLM now led by Dirty Harrys little office bitch doing what Harry wants done by him.

A lot of people are really worked up over a totally unsubstantiated blog post.
I think I'll wait to see what happens. Taking thousands of acres without payment isn't exactly something that rings true, and I'm no fan of big government.

I see the Texas Monthly one, but I don't see anything about the 90000 acre plans.

This actually seems more of a dispute between two states and application of pretty standard accretion v. avulsion...pretty standard among states that accretion belongs to the owner of the bank that is accreting and the landowner losing land to erosion simply loses it while avulsion doesn't change ownership.
Simply if Henderson has a deed from TX for TX lands he can't own lands that are in OK. So once the border dispute is finalized between TX and OK then a portion of what he thought were his TX lands may be OK lands to which he does not have a deed. Then it appears that those lands in OK are owned or claimed by the BLM - fed lands. Henderson has no beef with the BLM if the land ends up in OK, they didn't take it from him...the resolution of the state border dispute will be the culprit.

I think the BLM is claiming ownership of any lands that are deemed to be in OK along a 116 mile stretch of the river so it's likely a portion of the Henderson ranch along the river which may be 90k....116 sq miles = just over 5MM acres.

But Henderson has been paying property taxes on those lands to Texas. Had he not paid his property taxes on those lands, then Texas would have foreclosed (well, the county, actually, right?), and he would have lost his land. Either way, he appears to be losing his land. So, he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't, right?

If he paid taxes to TX for lands in OK then he may have a claim for return of those tax dollars from TX...it all comes down to TX and OK resolving the border dispute. He may keep his land if the resolution keeps all the AC he claims in TX...if it goes to OK he loses. Where the states agree to set the border may cause him to lose land, not the BLM.

One of these days, in their overreaching landgrab, the feds are going to piss off the wrong rancher, and it won't end well for anyone.
I know a number of people on the RR that this will affect. All the local politicians and Rick Perry are supporting them. However, if the BLM tries to confiscate their land it will get real real ugly. One in particular has 107 acres the BLM is targeting which he has the deed to and pays taxes.

Remember the Alamo! People if this can happen there,it can happen where you live also. Government can always come up with an excuse to take your home. Its got to end.
