It is unfortunate that a few bad apples have to give the readers, a bad name, when most of them don't cause issues.

this is why it pisses us off to be treated as second rate citizens because we have to pay for the crimes of a few. the way yall react to our posting makes the reader thread into a fricking concentration camp.

I wonder if they even realize their rampant readerphobia and the OMG BAN ALL READERS is what usually ends up prompting some rogue reader douche to post spoilers to begin with.

This is what I'm waiting for and it will be hilarious. Hodors will piss off the wrong reader and they'll come out blazing spoilers. I understand the point non readers are making, but it probably isn't smart throwing insult after insult at readers when their only threat is being banned and you risk your favorite show being spoiled. Just saying.

Some people just have to be contrarians, like a cpl readers in this thread have shown. There may be non readers starting shite in the readers thread, but I can't speak to that as I avoid those.

The worst are the ones who pretend they haven't read any books, spoilers, or other sites, and have all these theories they have supposedly come up with on their own. I actually feel sorry for anyone who needs to get a self esteem boost by posting on a message board.

So you guys don't like us yet constantly feel the need to join the thread where you will be constantly told to leave? Why is that? Is there some need to be accepted?

There you go lumping all readers together again. I like the nonreaders just fine and I haven't posted in a nonreader thread the last two seasons. That's why I created the Middle Ground thread. It's a place where nonreaders who don't mind chatting with readers can go to ask questions without risking any major spoilers of future events.

Do I think readers would do best to stay out of the nonreader thread? Yes. Do I think a reader who makes a non spoiling comment in the nonreader thread should be banned? No.

You can't force anyone to stay out of the nonreader thread, though many of us do as a courtesy. There's always gonna be the occasional troll, but that's the cost of posting on a public Internet forum. Overreacting to the trolls will only encourage the next one to do something even bigger. Is that immature? Of course it is, but you can't eliminate it entirely. You can only try to mitigate the damage.

I'll leave that to y'all. I won't even RA a post in the nonreader thread myself as to not call any attention to it by its deletion.

May peace be upon the Hodors.

I agree with most of your post. But this line always got me.

"people posting because they want attention/replies/notoriety/to look cool"

There hasn't been a spoiler posted this year, so again the majority of your side are making more of an issue than there really is.
But everyone who posts wants people to read their posts, so to call people out for wanting attention to their posts is laughable to me.

as far as back channels go. I'm not even in the top 1,000 posters here. Some do it all the time. I got like 20 people in my email list, lol it isn't that much. For a site I've been on for nearly eight years.

I agree, I have grown to dislike the Hodors based on their vocal few. There are a few Hodors that are asshats just like there are a few readers that are asshats, but it seems the few want to be so vocal that everyone else gets lumped in. IMO the readers should not help the non-readers even with back channels and watch it all get ruined for them, the majority of the readers try and protect the non-readers but in their eyes we are the scum of the earth. The bad apple applies on both sides in this one.

Here is the difference:

If the readers cause a problem, it hurts the viewing of show for the Hodors.

If the Hodors cause a problem, it hurts the feelings of the majority of readers that aren't doing anything wrong.

One causes actual harm to the viewing of the show, the other hurts the feelings of the readers.

One seems much more detrimental to me, but I'm obviously biased.

Sorry if I came across as douchy yesterday. I love hodors. I work with a bunch of hodors. For some reason your posting yesterday really got under my skin. I don't know exactly why and I will try not to let it happen again.

I didn't mean to upset anyone.

I will be posting in the middle ground thread if I need clarification, thanks!
