Feds Back Down in Nevada Showdown After Reid/China Land Grab Revelations

The son of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), Rory Reid, is the primary representative for ENN Energy Group, a Chinese energy company seeking to build a $5 billion solar panel plant on a 9,000-acre Clark County desert plot in Laughlin, Nevada.
ENN scored big when Clark County commissioners unanimously voted to sell the Chinese company the public land for just $4.5 million, despite the fact that it was appraised at $38.6 million.
Sen. Reid has been one of ENN’s biggest supporters, having recruited the company during a 2011 trip to China. According to Reuters, last month Sen. Reid tried to “pressure Nevada's largest power company, NV Energy, to sign up as ENN's first customer.”

I'm wondering why this hasn't been brought up anywhere in the national media limelight yet. You'd think FOX News would be all over this.
Sometimes I think this whole political thing is a collusion between the pols and the media. Something about strange bedfellows comes to mind.
Remember the cartoon with the wolf and the sheepdog clocking in their timecards on the side of the tree, then they chase each other all day, then clock out and seem to be the best of friends? I often see this in politics and media.

Of course it is. The elites (including FOX News and the republican establishment) may squabble amongst themselves sometimes, but if any of us commoners try to she'd light on their incestuous orgy with money and politics, they will all join forces and turn on us. The reason you don't hear more about these things is because the republicans are involved in the same types of things.

If this isn't being reported by any news outlet, it can't be true.
Signed, all loyal subjects.

Here is a related article from 2012:

How Did Harry Reid Get Rich?
His career in public service has ended up being remarkably lucrative.
By Betsy Woodruff
Imagine that someone grows up in poverty, works his way through law school by holding the night shift as a Capitol Hill policeman, and spends all but two years of his career as a public servant. Now imagine that this person’s current salary — and he’s at the top of his game — is $193,400. You probably wouldn’t expect him to have millions in stocks, bonds, and real estate.
But, surprise, he does, if he’s our Senate majority leader, whose net worth is between 3 and 10 million dollars, according to OpenSecrets.org. When Harry Reid entered the Nevada legislature in 1982, his net worth was listed as between $1 million and $1.5 million “or more,” according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. So, since inquiring minds inquire, let’s try to figure out how Reid’s career in public service ended up being so lucrative. He hasn’t released his tax returns, which makes this an imperfect science, but looking at a few of his investments helps to show how he amassed his wealth.
In 2004, the senator made $700,000 off a land deal that was, to say the least, unorthodox. It started in 1998 when he bought a parcel of land with attorney Jay Brown, a close friend whose name has surfaced multiple times in organized-crime investigations and whom one retired FBI agent described as “always a person of interest.” Three years after the purchase, Reid transferred his portion of the property to Patrick Lane LLC, a holding company Brown controlled. But Reid kept putting the property on his financial disclosures, and when the company sold it in 2004, he profited from the deal — a deal on land that he didn’t technically own and that had nearly tripled in value in six years.

Yeah, I didn't pinpoint one party or the other. When I said pols that was an all encompassing statement.

Hastert is another good one. Arrived in 1987 as a wrestling coach and left 20 years later with a net worth of almost $20 million.

Huge reason for Dem's assuming the House majority during Bush's final two years. His fait accompli, the BS Prairie Parkway road project, ultimately got shutdown, but not before the POS made a couple of million off of it.

The insider trading loophole, alone, sets them up to cash in big time. And I might be wrong, but I think that since law was passed to address this atrocity, they have since EXEMPTED Staff from the teeth of the Law.
I have high hopes re the Tea Party fresh blood; though my faith that single-minded dedication/focus on the Good Lord might mitigate the corrupting influence of Power...has been slammed. Thank you McCalister.

If the R's take the Senate...Reid should be drummed out of Washington. Of course...he has enough complicit info on most of them...that they'll never touch the guy. Lay down with dogs...!

Are you telling me Reid didn't make all of his money from his law practice in Searchlight?! Color me shocked.
