OT Athletes: How long before you could walk after ACL surgery?

I just had my surgery yesterday and the doc says it could be 3-4 weeks before I'm off crutches. The big issue is, I work on my feet.

His OT so less than 24 hours after many were running marathons

After giving the dirt I rubbed on it a few seconds to soak in.

It's been almost 10 years, but I'm almost positive that it was within 14 days.

depends on severity of tear.

I was off of crutches after 2 weeks.

It depends on the surgeons protocol based on the type of graft you got. What type of graft did you get?

I got a hamstring graph and 2 weeks on crutches and then one crutch for about a week

I was on two crutches for about 3 days, one for another 2-3 or so. I wasn't walking normally, but I could get around decently and much more convenient than with the crutch.
I also had my surgery 10 months after the initial tear. Hamstring graft.
ETA: I think it depends heavily on quad recovery. I had hardly any degradation in my quads.

It's all about the graft. Most autographs have quicker return to full weight bearing. Allografts are the opposite typically.
Of course there are always exceptions.

My roommate just had this surgery and he was off crutches after a week. He would still bring a cane around a few days after.

My brother is a nurse and went back to work @ 6 weeks post surgery.

Without crutches, 4-5 weeks. Will be at least 3 and depends on how your rehab goes.
ETA just saw hamstring. Probably 2 weeks on average then. I was speaking of patella tendon whic is was any OT athlete in their right mind does

What? Why?

You'll be good in 2-3 weeks. Haven't torn mine, but everyone I've known who had torn one was walking in no time

Crutches till stitches come out. I walked on it 10 days after since we went out for my 21st bday but I wasn't supposed to be FWB without crutches yet.

I had mine via donor graft back in December. The recovery for that type is a bit slower. I was on crutches for about 6 weeks. I wore the brace for another 2-3 weeks after that.
Now, I'm 16 weeks post op. Still don't want to run yet, but I bike about 50 kilometers a week and lift like normal.
