I love how everyone assumes that I am failing or hate my lot in life. No.

I'm just saying that maybe, this life I'm living, isn't my real life. Maybe that hasn't begun yet.

But philosophy on the OT has never gone over well.

No, you're not. You're broke, and have too much time on your hands. Get a real job, travel, and do something with your life.

Maybe you should clarify. Maybe "real life" doesn't mean what I think it means. It sounded to me as if you were saying there is some sort of plan or destiny for you, you were meant for something specific, and it will eventually just happen. Your real life.

Sounds like you're still in the waiting room because you forgot to sign in.

Also, graduating college is not the beginning of a real life.

Trust me.

What would you do if a doctor told you you have 6 months to live?

Think hard about that. Make a list.

I'm not a doctor but the odds are pretty high that you have 6 months to live.....plus a lot more than 6 months. What's first on your list? What's stopping you?

I agree with you, OP.

I have a good job, but I'm not where I expected to be at 31. I have a girlfriend, but I expected to have a family by now. I'm the only one of my friends who doesn't seem to have life by the balls, sometimes, and it gets old after a while. I like my life, but I feel like I'm in between my last life (college, grad school) and my future life of being where I need to be to have my mind right.

I've done things because I felt that's what I should be doing. I thought by forcing myself into certain situations I would adapt and find my place. I wanted to be an idealized version of myself, but my true identity has prevented that from happening. The day I can accept my true self, my real life will begin.

What are you interested in? What are you passionate about?

What I said was true for everybody, and I've said the same thing on this board before. I meant no offense.

I probably shouldn't have teased you for your username.

I felt that way until my sophomore year of college. I even wrote a song about it. However, you eventually grow out of it once you start forcing yourself to live life the way you really want to. I was shy and lonely, but i forced myself to learn how to talk to girls and joined a reggie/hip hop band even though i didn't really care for their music. I got my confidence, i had a blast, and i even met my current so of 3 years. You just have to realize that if you feel like life is passing you by that it's up to you to do something about it. Life is what you make it.
