24, single, workplace will be in Broussard off 90 about 10 miles past the airport. What neighborhoods are good to look in for rental houses? My upper limit for rent is around $700 and would like to stay within a 20 min commute if possible.
ETA: with at least one or two roommates

You don't have many options at $700/ month in Lafayette, or many places for that matter.

South point maybe?
A couple of my buddies rented a shitty house in the old part of Broussard for like 400 a month. Window unit AC and that was 10 years ago.

Guess I should have explained further...$700 out of my pocket plus at least one roommate possibly two.

May be hard to get a decent house for that.
Do you need it to be a house and not an apartment?

That is, if you aren't already "familiar" with it
He'll only need that if he moves to Carencro, New Iberia or their surrounding areas

Haven't seen many places for rent around

Machine shop or gas station?

They have some nice town houses on Verot close to Stuller that I think one is up for rent but I don't know how much it is.
You're best bet would be to check for houses for rent in the Broussard/Youngsville area

The closer you are to where you work, the cheaper you will find a place more than likely.
Closer you are to lafayette, more you will enjoy living if you don't know many people.
