I was at my camp at Toledo Bend when I was a kid and some guys caught a pretty big one. Some drunk redneck decided it was a good idea to put his cigarette in the turtles mouth. The turtle bit his finger off and he had to be rushed to the hospital.

One of the dumbest things I have witnessed to this day.

And on a related note, cars. Anyone seen one of these before? Apparently you put flammable liquid in it, and it just rolls around taking you from destination to destination.

I caught one that was about 30 lbs near the Garden District when I was a kid. 15+ years ago. Now they occasionally dredge the canals and there are no large turtles in there anymore. Don't seem to be many big ones in the LSU lakes either.
