I've picked up a few ticks hiking. I use the dental floss method (#2 in the link). Works great to ensure that when you pull him out that you don't accidentally squeeze all of his lyme disease guts into you.

Got that sucker. In my youth I spent nearly every day in the woods and haven't had a single tick in all my life. Today I went in the woods looking for snakes (inspired by the Gaboon Viper thread), and just noticed it when I got out the shower. So he's been on me for about 6 hours. Pulled him off in one piece. Damn those frickers hold on tight! What will I die from first, Lyme disease or tickAIDS?

I've been catching snakes since around 5 or 6 years old. I have a pet Pygmy rattler for the past 6 months or so. Didn't see any today.

Was it a dog tick or a deer tick? Deer ticks are the Lyme disease culprits, and if you read a little about it, that shite is no joke. I'm scared of deer ticks, Lyme disease fricks you up for good.

put your finger on it with some pressure. Rotate your finger in circles for at least 30 seconds. Stop and he will back out.

Nail polish does not always work. Just had to take one off my son. Ended up using tweezers. Squeeze the head and give it a light tug every now and then and it will eventually let go..
