This is a 5 page thread of people arguing about agreeing that we need WR(s) in the draft.
The Saints had a great passing offense last season. I know people aren't that dense to come to the conclusion that that = adequate WRs. I think we all can admit that we suffered from the limited WRs options we had once teams like Seattle shut down guys like Sproles and Graham.
WRs accounted for 45% of Drew's passing yards and 37% of his completions. We need more balance in the passing game. Stop trying to pass off that 2 RBs having 70+ receptions like it is necessarily a good thing.

The only thing I really disagreed with was the fact you tried to make it seem like due to the offense putting up nice passing yardage, that everything was ok at receiver. Besides that, we seem to be on the same page.
Lester initially said that the passing offense was in bad shape. He later changed his argument (surprise, surprise) when he was confronted with facts that didn't fit his agenda.
I was arguing against his initial position, which is usually a waste of time because he's fond of moving the goal posts midstream.

It was the necessary thing given our Oline.

And I'm not going to fall into your "either or" questions because all of those deserve multifaceted answers.
of course you're not.
Then dont say im creating false scenarios.
our RBs caught that many balls out of necessity, which is never good. when you can use them as a luxury, like we have in year's past with Bush and Sproles, then that is when the offense is really clicking.
Graham is the best weapon in our team, shoot, in our history. But he had little relief last year. We forced a ton of balls to him that otherwise should not have been thrown his way.

For someone who is smart you sure do see things as needing to be black or white. Open your eyes and see the world is full of grays.
You watch a team, coach and players long enough, then it is pretty easy to see when something changes as drastically as our distribution did last year.

That's his MO. He'll even put words in your mouth, or complete fabricate things (apparently I've never been to a Saints game and can't name our starting secondary). He's just bad people.

he really REALLYd dislikes us

You originally stated that our passing game wasn't in good shape.
You later refined it to the WR production when you started getting destroyed with facts that did not support your argument.
Did you read the whole thread? It's has been about our WR production. I didnt have to clarifiy again until you jumped in.
shite i havent even expressed my 1st round draft preference in this thread. Where does that come in?

No one disagrees with our issues at WR.
No one does, until they start arguing the opposite.
I feel like im in the fricking twilight zone.
A few people keep saying we are fine "as is".

I wouldn't mind Lee at all.
shite, I'd like Ford to a certain extent.

Yet anyone who really watched the games saw the Oline get destroyed game after game until Evans got healthy, and then continued to watch Brown cause Brees fits until he got benched.
Yet somehow because our Oline sucked arse worse than any year since Payton has been here(oh hey
No one is saying don't draft a receiver or we shouldn't upgrade or any of that other nonsense bullshite.
All anyone is saying is that WR is being made out to be way worse than it was, and play calling and the Oline were much larger issues.
Ad yes, again, we can definitely stand to upgrade at WR, just as we can at HB, CB, LB, and G or any position for that matter(QB could be younger, RT could be elite instead of very good, etc.)

Right, its the OL.
Yet Jimmy Graham was able to get downfield at will.
Guys, its ok to admit our WRs were not good last year. No one is going to disown you.

Nobody not once said we shouldn't shoot for better than fine.

Oh wait, we had a good receiver last year? No wai!

the same OL we are bringing back along with huge void a center?
Well shite, we need to stop talking about upgrading WR and draft 3 offensive lineman.

You are being purposely dense. If you don't think having Graham and 2 RBs (one who is gone) leading our passing attack is worrisome then I don't know what to say.
Bottom line IMO we need playmakers at WR if we want to take that next step.

I already said we looked fine once those two things happened.
And I fricking said C is the most important need.
But wait, let's leave out a huge part to make our argument make sense. Yay!
