Not sure who you are replying to, but did you think it out? In line with how many mouths do you feed; assuming you are a good shot it should only take one round to take down a deer goat cow or other mammal. This should provide ample food for a family for at least a week. With this assumption 10,000 rounds feeds my family for over 190 years. I won't be alive that long and really DGAF. If extra rounds are needed for protection either I'm dead because I can't protect or I'm alive and I now have their weapons and ammo which increases my original amount. Going back to the question of why did I need 10,000 rounds to begin with. I never said you nor anyone else should not be allowed to purchase that many, my questions was why do you need that many.
so why do you keep asking if you dgaf, do you want to limit ammo? do you want to place restrictions to who can own and store ammo? do you want to limit the amount of ammo anyone can store?

If your still alive the ammo would be a great commodity, but if we are in that situation the end of the barrel that the ammo comes out of would be an even butter commodity.
I am trying to come up with an analogy to describe how stupid this answer is, but I'm coming up empty. It's that stupid.

Is there any distinction in your question regarding the caliber? A case of most pistol ammo is 1000 rounds while .22lr comes in 5000.

No amount is never enough. It's amazing to me that there is a shortage of .22 bullets

I want as much as I can get. And I def want more than you

How many rounds do you need?
As much as I want to buy. Its well within my rights to purchase any amount I desire.
Plus, in case of a SHTF scenorio, ammo is gonna be like gold. It will be a powerful bartering product.
Its about survival. The masses are weaklings and won't last long. Its in my blood to fight and survive. Many don't have that mentality, people like that are weak.
Perhaps you have never been in a situation where your life has been in danger. If you have, your instinct for survival will kick in.

Every time there is an issue about the 2nd, ammo costs go out the roof. Everybody starts trying to buy 1,000 rounds and supply cannot meet the demand. I'm not saying limit the amount of ammo someone can buy, but why do you need 10,000 rounds of ammo?
Bc people are fearful that the push will lead to limits on the amount of ammo that you can buy in the future... Its not a dooms day prep, its a supply/demand prep.
btw, have you ever gone range shooting? Its not uncommon for people on a weekend shoot to go through thousands of rounds of ammo.
If you are an avid shooter who goes to the range or whatnot weekly/monthly, the smart play is to hedge your investment.

I personally don't need "10,000 rounds of ammo". But then again, I guess I don't need 6 cans of corn in my pantry. But I have it. Is there gonna be a run on corn if a farm bill gets signed, probably not...but I still have my stock available to me.
Your statements regarding people using the 10K rounds to kill others are disturbing. If I wanted that many rounds I should be able to buy/stock that many rounds. There are currently no laws against what I have in my ownership.
It's quite simple. When the government starts talking production issues, people get scared. So they go basically become hoarders. There is never "enough" of certain things depending on your lifestyle. Some women like purses, some women like shoes. Some people have the desire to have ammo quantity on hand in case production stops. I know, I know..production of ammo will never stop, right? Well, I'm not necessarily hitting the "I believe" button on that either, nor am I holding that much ammo.
Not to mention the simplest reason: Bulk ammo sometimes has some GREAT prices when it's on sale!

And one round kills a person so why someone like this fine gentleman here buying in bulk is the problem?

Is a tin foil gun worse than a black gun?
Posted on 3/27/14 at 7:59 am to Geaux-2-L-O-Miss
Because you enjoy shooting? My wife goes thru 500-1000 rounds every week. When we can get away and go shooting together, we may go thru 4-5000 rounds of various calibers in a weekend. I wonder why people need $60000 boats, $1M houses, watch basketball or hockey, but hey, to each his own. We enjoy going out and spending relaxing time together shooting, is that really a problem?

Why do people always associate ammo/guns/shooting with killing people? Some people like to kill paper or cardboard...or maybe feed their families from hunting. Some people like to target practice to be humane in their hunting to make sure the animal doesn't suffer by placing a clean shot on the animal.

Of course, I was just putting out the point that ideally buying a box of 1000 is no worse on lethality (when talking about a single target) than 1.

. If their ammo doesn't fit your weapon you have theirs to use.
So you are going to keep several different weapons on you, none of which you have experience with? You also wouldn't know what condition the weapon is in. I wouldn't want to put my life in the hands of some random persons gun that may or may not be well cared for.
Wouldn't it make more sense to have ammo for a weapon that you know is well maintained and that you are familiar with.
I don't keep anywhere near 10k rounds, but it's better to have too much than not enough, and that is true for more than ammo.
