Incorrect. I know of people who have recently gotten in with a 19 and a 20.

They probably had higher GPA's... and I'm sure the requirements have changed.

No offense to UT (I think it's a beautiful campus and area of the country), but how are they on that list? Seems like a mixture of LA and East TX schools, so Tennessee strikes me as a bit of an outlier in that regard. Just curious, does he have friends going there or did his parents go there?

Maybe he wants to go to a big SEC school that's not in the same city he spent his entire life in.

What were their GPA's?

If they were below a 2.0 then they were almost certainly on probation. If you make an 18 then they will let you in but if your GPA is bad enough, you're on a short leash.

Keep in mind that TCU is about 75% greek and is full of rich dbag guys who think they are awesome because their dad is rich, and stuck up girls who only care about money.

There is a lot more money at SMU, and the greek "houses" at TCU are a joke.

Somewhere in the 2.6-2.9 range

Agreed. If I was looking elsewhere in the SEC instead of LSU, I would think UGA and picking one between Auburn/Bama would be the places to look.

Yeah, no kidding. If he's smart, go for broke. Yale, Princeton, UPenn, Dartmouth, Carnegie Mellon

Not at all. I'm perfectly fine with us getting Georgia and Texas kids who couldn't get in to their state schools. That doesn't mean those kids are dumb. The competition and entrance requirements are much higher than Ole Miss'

If Ole Miss could set it's own entrance requirements then it would be much harder to get in than it is now.

-LSU

Best college experience of the list, but I understand wanting to get away from home.

-TCU

Lot of wealth, nice place, but its really small; bunch of hot, rich girls.

-Tulane

Don't go to Tulane.

-SMU

TCU, but a little richer and douchier. Really good system in place for getting alums jobs.

-Tennessee

Don't have any real opinion on Tenn, other than that I enjoyed my trip there for the LSU game in '06.

Out of the list, I'd go with LSU. If he wants to do the small school thing, I'd go with TCU. If he wants big school experience just not in Baton Rouge, I'd look at UGA or Texas.
