this is the type of shite coach K did during the Paulus years of futility. Rather than coach his own team he was too busy trying to coach other teams' players. Classy, but as a Duke fan he needs to question what his priorities are.

Hey I'm the coach of that school who none of you ever had a shot at attending. I just stopped by to let you know what an honor it is to beat me.

I'm telling pilot you we're mean to me

quote:

He's a generational coach and every one of those kids would have dropped a nut to have him call their house during their recruiting periods.

He's adding to their celebration. In every sport there's a hierarchy that exists and every one is aware of it. He sits pretty close to the top of his. If you're privileged enough to be there, being gracious to those beneath you is a special thing.

I'm not saying the players thought it was shitty. I'm saying I think it was shitty. there's a difference.

it probably made the players feel like a million bucks, but to me, it looks like an obvious PR stunt. especially after comments like:
quote:

"I'll get in trouble probably for saying it. Like the Atlantic 10, they're a really good conference. I hear people saying there are six teams in there. Come on. I mean, they're good, but put them in our conference and go through the meat grinder that our conference has to go through. But really ... our league should get more respect. The fact that Pitt comes in here and people are saying they have to do something, come on. Come on, man. I don't get it. The Clemson team we played [Friday] night is a heck of a basketball team."

Isn't it 31 NCAA appearances in 32 years with 4 titles?

This is on par with the high school team could beat the 76ers thread.

I take that back, nothing is that dumb.

I think it was a classy move. He is the top basketball coach in the country and this gesture is one reason why.
His mentor, Bobby Knight, would still be throwing chairs !

your opinion is clearly biased by a dislike for him, so much so that you completely disregarded what was included in the OP.

Instead of that being your guide (someone involved's actual thoughts) you went straight into some weird make this all about your opinion on the matter.

Sorry I can't help but remember quotes after early Tournament exits like "It's not about winning, it's about building relationships." Or the time Duke got embarrassed by Clemson in the ACC Tournament and Coach K felt the need to go on the Clemson team bus and tell THEM how proud he was of them. That happened.

He failed to make high school level adjustments in today's game. He should be pissed. Instead he seems resigned.

Nice move by Coach K but it's very common that he publicly applauds every opponent after every game. Especially after a loss. Clemson was world beaters after a loss to Clemson and a last second win in the ACC Tourney. Turns out we're just as good as Mercer.

Me neither.

To posters here, Coach K had an agenda by doing it. Apparently that agenda was to get caught on camera doing it so jackwagons on social media can pronounce their disdain.

It had NOTHING to do with showing his appreciation for the team that won the game.

I don't dislike him at all.

I just think something is a little weird when he basically trashes them before hand then does this after they beat them.
