This was my first one and it scared the shite out of me. I was dead asleep and woke up to my entire house shaking and things falling off the shelves. I was only a few blocks from the epicenter.

Still better than the Dallas tornadoes though!!

i live in sherman oaks, a few miles from the epicenter. are you in north hollywood?

i was out of bed when it happened, it was 2 big jolts, and lasted less than 10 seconds. the first jolt scared the shite out of me.

This is exactly how I described the 3.7ish one I felt when in SF a few years ago. I was sleeping and was awakened by what felt like something slamming into the wall that the bed was on. I thought it was a dream and went back to bed. Fortunately, I didn't know it was an earthquake until I went in to work. Didn't sleep well the rest of the week, though. F those things.

This is actually pretty accurate. I wasn't really ready for the exact feel of it cause I had always thought it was just the earth shaking, but it is different and feels like your house has been hit really hard by something.

I can't imagine a 7 or 8. When I woke up I thought the world was ending.

i lived through the 94 earthquake that lasted about 40 seconds. The apartment we lived in collapsed. Trust me, you don't want to be around for one of those.

"Earthquake...we're having an earthquake." I'm sure someone can turn this into an awesome GIF.
