The whole second half of Double Jeopardy was filmed in NO.
Another that comes to mind is a scene in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" when they are trying to find Gambit. They are literally riding Harleys down Bourbon St. and stop into one of the bars where he is playing cards. I doubt that scene inside was filmed in one of the bars on Bourbon, though.

In the Pelican Brief, a Tuland law student cracks the case that has confused the entire CIA/FBI. The first half of that film is set in Louisiana.

A good portion of Live and Let Die is filmed in and around NOLA isn't it? I seem to remember a jazz funeral and Bond taking the sheriff for a wild boat ride.

There's an independent comedy that is based and filmed in LA with Ed Helms in it, can't remember the name.
Jeff, Who Lives at Home. Set in BR. Written by the Duplass brothers from NOLA.

Three pages, and a huge list on the first page, but A Streetcar Named Desire(1951) has yet to be mentioned.

Obviously there are a lot of movies posted that were filmed in Louisiana or based there, but I think the really neat thing is when a movie that is filmed in and/or based in Louisiana actually allows for the setting to become a character or major influencing factor in the story.
Some of those films have been mentioned, but that is one of the reasons why I have enjoyed True Detective so much. They seemed to capture the essence of a side of South Louisiana that plays its cards close to the vest, protects its own, and just gives off that vibe that outsiders are welcome... as long as they don't get too close!

Have to check that out; wouldn't mind seeing that and a good ol movie based in the swamps. I know it sounds boring, just into that kind of stuff. Swamp movies and fishing movies, just movies out on the bayou in general. Only problem, can almost find a good one ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconbanghead.gif)

No I seriously have watched it a good bit of times. Couple on tv and a couple of HULU. I haven't watched it in a while but when I did watch it, I never really caught on I guess. Excuse my ignorance but I really never caught on
Where did you think it was?

Any movies based in Louisiana?
I know there a quite a few TV shows but are there any actual movies based in Louisiana? If so can you name a few and give me a quick description? Need something to watch this weekend. TIA
The end and final battle of Universal Soldier. Takes place in Meraux, LA. Just ignore the mountains in the background of a town that's southeast of New Orleans.
