so evens got the call to go, he went, but a different superhero couldn't do the bit with the kid?
That doesn't make much sense to me.

Im really not trying to start anything here or be a dick. why does Batkid get so much attention? There are so many other poor kids with cancer in this county and the world? why does he get to do all this? Bale should've gone with Batkid and Tobey Maguire is a better person.

i agree. Captain America is related to Batman about as much as Spiderman is. There was probably some issue with Captain America (Marvel/ABC/Disney) being on stage with Batman (DC/Warner). Where as there was no issue with Spiderman (Marvel/Sony).
I don't know. Just guessing.

You know the answer to that question which is his story is a ratings grabber.
In the world we live in where there is so much garbage that is awarded tv time and attention just to get ratings, I would say let this kid have his day in the sun and maybe divert your questions to the Kardashians or Honey Poo Poo.

Interesting. I thought Chris Evans' intro seemed a little short/out of place when I heard it.
I find it curious that they couldn't duplicate the skit with the guy who plays Captain America. I mean, the goody-goody stuff is more Cap's speed anyhow.

What a load of crap. Why not just have Chris Evans present the kid with the honor? I don't believe this story at all.

So the Academy cancelled it, Garfield went to Disneyland with the kid, and the kid isn't even dying?
frick this story.

A somewhat different version
Typical.. just typical... It really kills me that you can't truly believe hardly anything you see from the media when there are differences in details or POV. You truly never know what agenda might be out there.

there are so many kids with terrible afflictions all over the world, why does one kid get all this?

Well, to be fair, while Fox News may be more conservative, they have no reason to tell a different story here. Fox doesn't own the rights to Spiderman.
Taken together with the New York Post's infamy of terrible journalism, I'm inclined to believe Fox News.

Should have just gotten Bale to do it anyway. Why have Spiderman annoint him Batkid? Have Batman do it.
Exactly. Made no sense to me in the beginning.

The whole story seems kind of thin. I'm more inclined to believe the "producers cut the bit" vrsion before "some actor didn't like his lines and told a kid with leukemia to get bent" one, especially considering the Oscar presenter bits are notoriously wooden.
FWIW, there's a third version floating around stating that he bailed on the Oscars because Emma Stone had to rush home to be with her dying mother and he went with her.

I know you're trolling but I'll answer you, again, anyway.
Because someone setup an awesome(and expensive) make a wish for this kid, his story blew up in the media. Other lazy media latch on to the easy ratings getting story and run it into the ground.
The lazy media do the same thing with many other stories that deserve much less attention than Batkid, so instead of "Why does one kid get all this?", why aren't you complaining about the breaking news story every time Miley Cyrus changes her hair color?
