the best "new" king cake you've had this season

For me it's from Antoine's in Gretna. Just their plain king cake, no filling. So moist and not too much cinnamon.
Had never even heard of the place before this year. Guy at work brought one in. It was mind-blowingly good.

The one I had from Alexander's in BR was fantastic. Best one I've had in a while.

A guy at work has been bringing in Caluda King Cakes the past few weeks. I think he is related to the family. He gets them from Zuppardos in Metairie. This week he brought a Bananas Foster King Cake. All of them have been really good.

I have a habit of wiping a knife after everything I cut. Especially garlic or cheese. Don't want foods to have any time to stick to the blade. Plus I have a phobia of slicing my hand open whilst cleaning knives.

I like the Sucre King cake. It's not dry at all and isn't overly sweet either. I also like just plain one from Rouse's.

Had the Alexander's one and was also really impressed by it.
The Sucré king cake was nice as well. Have to warm the slices up, but worth it.

New for me.
I really enjoyed the king cake from Breads on Oak. It was filled with cream cheese but it was delicately added, not overstuffed.
My favorite this year.

From Julie Annes in Shreveport. Surprised the shite out of me because everyone else up here is confused on what a king cake should look like.

On the LA cost this weekend st the condo. Had the first king cake I ever tasted today from publix.
Cream cheese with strawberries. Was pricey for what we got - like $8.00. Softer than a honeybun. Not a lot different than a strawberry strudel except it had colored sugar on the top flavored purple and yellow.
Had a string of plastic beads and a little plastic naked baby in a bag. We have eaten most of the pastry. Not sure what to do with the naked kid.
