I believe it is inevitable b/c if you live long enough you'll eventually get it, but I would like to know what are the OT's thoughts on this issue.

I would like to know how many people would lose their job if there was a cure for cancer.

The answer is not a simple yes or no

For some of the losers of the genetic lottery...inevitable.

I worked at MDACC for a long time, and some of the people in there are as healthy and fit as they possibly could be when they arrive. They lost the lottery.

But there are alot of preventative measures the average Joe can take.

Inevitable for some.

There are certain measures you can take to mitigate the chances, but at the end of the day, since we really don't know the causes of cancer, there is no way to prevent or cure the affliction.

There will never be a cure unless we know the cause, and I strongly subscribe to the theory that synthetics are the root causes of cancer.

i think it is neither inevitable nor preventable.

i mena, you can take all the recognized precautions to prevent cancer but you may end up with it later in life.

similarly, you can eat like crap, smoke occasionaly, and treat your body like a dump and may never get cancer.

If you get run over by a bus at age 20 you won't get cancer, so no it is not inevitable and is preventable.

I bet it is preventable/curable but then you have to realize how much money drug companies will lose on a prevention/cure. They aren't in the business to make cures. These folks are the new mafiosi with government backing.

I had heard a myth that prostate cancer will inevitably affect every man, if something else doesn't first. Any truth to this?

Cancer and all other illnesses both physical and mental/emotional are caused by stress in the body. If the stress switch is turned off the body's immune system can naturally heal itself on a fundamental energetic level. I would recommend everyone get a book called The Healing Codes and read it. It describes energy healing on a quantum physical level as the fundamental way for ANY condition to be healed, including cancer.

I think I read somewhere that if you live long enough you will get it.

Wasn't there some kid that found a real cheap way to diagnose cancer and aren't there cancer sniffing dogs? Seems like if you could catch it in beginning stages you would stand a good chance of beating the cancer. And then maybe 4-5 times a year pay a few bucks and let a dog sniff you

Some kinds are more likely to happen if certain factors happen, like with unprotected sun exposure and skin cancer, smoking and lung cancer, HPV and cervical cancer. They could always spontaneously occur on their own, but there's things you can do to reduce some risk.

The cancer cells are in most people, just depends on how or if they manifest themselves.

It's true that if you live long enough, you will eventually get it. Our DNA is constantly being damaged by natural, inescapable sources. But there are steps you can take that will lower your risk. That said, people often misinterpret the statistics. A friend of mine once read somewhere that something like 80% of cancers were RELATED to diet. This convinced him that 80% of cancers were CAUSED SOLELY by diet, which is ridiculous.
