I'm not going to go as far as ruling out buying another MS product, but I kinda ran into a similar situation very recently with my 360 Slim 4GB.

Turns out you cannot play the digital version of Halo CE on the 4GB 360 without buying an offical MS hard drive.

I assume now it is because there is no emulator software. What is ridiculous is that they still allow you do purchase and download it without a warning of any kind on the XBL marketplace.

Nothing crazy, but you would think they would let you know this somehow before purchasing.

See, this is a legit gripe. OP should take notice.

It's a pretty shitty move for msft to release a unit that isn't capable of adding an hdd at all.

Sure the box confirms the console has internal memory but it says nothing about the console design not being able to accept a 360 hdd.

What version can you not add a HDD to?

Mine, for one. MS didn't include an expansion ability of any kind.

Exactly. It's a terrible decision.

4 gigs of internal memory with zero chance of adding a 360 had ever.

Something like this should have never been released.

Go buy a 60gb thumb drive for like 20 bucks. Problem solved.

Are you just being stubborn and ignoring what everyone here has posted?

Plus Microsoft would have gladly fixed your original 360. I've sent two of them in. It is an extremely easy process.

You're wrong.

There is indeed a 360 with internal memory that does not allow adding the 360 hdd.

You can plug in a flash drive if you want to spend extra money on a large flash drive rather than using a 360 hdd you may already have.

One of the reviews:

I bought a 4gb Xbox 360 slim because it is matte rather than glossy. 4gbs was filled up with just my game saves and I needed to have more space. I didnt want to risk getting in trouble for an aftermarket drive, so I decided to go with a microsoft drive. It plops right in and works perfectly. I copied my files to the hard drive, which is really easy to do. Now I have enough space to download my DLC. I highly recommend getting one of these if you have a 4gb xbox 360 slim and need more room. The hard drive is a little bit pricey, but at its current price ($90-95), it ends up being cheaper than the Xbox 360 slim 250gb version.

The old drive is 1/4 the size of the new slim box..Of course it won't just plug in..

I'm not reading this entire thread. Is he wanting to be able to use his old clunky HDD with the slim?

Oh well in that case it must be like that for every rendition of the 4 gig.

5 pages of backlash from people who have no idea but insist they are correct. Typical here.

I'll post a model number when I get back home.

Not trying to make fun, but did you take off the panel on the end and there is just no HDD slot?
