@ESPNStatsInfo: Clowney's unofficial 40-yd time of 4.47 would be fastest run by a player that weighs 260+ Lbs since 2006. Jimmy Graham would be 2nd (4.56)

I don't care about a DE's 40 time. If he's a pass rusher, I don't care about his benching neither. His explosion and quickness are what matter, along with his hands use and hip work. With that said, I think Clowney will be a bust. If it was the injury that messed his head up, then that's a huge concern. This dude is weak minded, and you can't be that in the NFL. I personally think there was a lot of selfishness involved too, and that's a bad combination.

Go get him, Falcs!

He'll be the Jarvis Jones of the draft this year, with at least decent production.

i don't take it as weak minded, but more of calculated risk. Selfish, absolutely.

Injuries happen, but freak accidents where your teammate went from a 1st round prospect to the end of the 4th round, lost millions and possibly ending his career is not normal.

As an arguably #1 overall prospect, he's thinking a 4yr/22mil contract is a big number. He gets injured, he loses that plus his second contract (if he plays up to his 'ranking')

It was a 4.53 officially. Not that it really matters.

People who think he won't be a major force are out of their fricking minds. The dude heard for 3 months how he would be the number one pick after his soph year had he been eligible. He is absolutely a prime example of why guys should be allowed to declare whenever they feel they are ready. He played not to get hurt as would 99% of those bashing him at this time. The dude is going to absolutely wreck shite at next level. Whether a bunch of guys on a message board think he's lazy is irrelevant, he has to simply be able to blow shite up and attack quarterbacks. He will do so successfully for a decade plus barring injury and make over a hundred million dollars in doing so.

3, but how many double teams and rerouting did lines do to him? A lot. With them paying more attention to him and isolating him away from the play, it reduces his chances of making a play and him taking the game at a snail's pace to ensure his own safety that is all the explanation needed.

Clay Matthews is a a badass passrusher, but he had a 6 sack season after a 14 sack season. Does that mean he sucks? No, it means teams learn to adjust to certain playmakers more often than others. That's why him going to houston would be ideal. You play side by side with arguably the best DE in football and they have to respect both of your games

I remember when Jevon Kearse ran a 4.43 at his pro day and scouts went crazy... But everyone runs faster at their pro day. I'm pretty sure Clowney's 4.53 combine time is better than Kearse's official time.
