Specifically, a Prius or Insight. I'm considering one for my work commute. Appreciate thoughts from anyone with experience.

There are plenty of less gay vehicles with good gas mileage. Congrats on the dicks.

I would post this on the money board to get serious answers. The young, scared, and afraid of what others think brigade is too insecure to offer insights.

If you really want a hybrid, get a Honda Civic hybrid. Same appearance as the regular Civic.

FIL does. Lives in Central, works in Livonia and gets around 45-50 I think.

my father drives nearly 50k miles a year so he got a prius a few years ago. He loves it. As he lives in the backwoods of alabama, everyone makes fun of him but he doesn't mind. I stuck an Obama sticker on his car last year and he came out to two flat tires. Just a heads up...

Bought a Prius new in February 2006. 130,000 miles later I just did my first maintenance outside of the regular oil changes and checkups, I had to change the 12v battery. So, you could say I've been very happy with my purchase so far.

Hybrids are a fraud. If you want one for the mileage, fine, but if you're trying to be "green," you're being fooled. The nickel that is used in the batteries makes them more harmful than a Hummer. The eco-punks have scrambled to refute this (because it reveals them to be idiots), but it's the truth.

Only on short a short par 4 with trouble. Otherwise, I can use a driver and do much better.

we have a prius and are very satisfied with our purchase. It's not the best looking car or the most fun to drive, but it sure saves me a boatload of money on gas. If you have a long commute, as I do, then you can't go wrong with a prius.

They're very popular where I live. Most people in the immediate area have long commutes to work (Gulfport/Biloxi or Slidell).

Stick with the Prius though. They get more repeat buyers than all other hybrids combined.
