Wife/GF Packing Time (for a trip)

My wife (no pics turkey creek) and I were having a discussion on this earlier. She takes an ungodly long time to pack for any trip. Whether it is for one night, or a week, she takes forever to decide what she wants to bring and procrastinates along the way. As expected, she usually ends up bringing WAY too much haha. I usually can throw a few things in a bag within 5-10 minutes. So how long does the typical OT 10/wife/gf take to pack for a trip?

Several days verbalizing about the actual act of packing. She usually packs the night before the trip. To her credit, she packs light and doesn't bring more then she needs.

Wife starts 3-5 days prior to any trip over 3 days...she uses the formal dining room to gather stuff, she calls it the "staging area"
Don't sweat it because it is a big part of the fun for them...

My gf took 3 days before we went to Costa Rica. Took her 2 hours before we went to San Antonio for a DAY last weekend.

I can't wait for the day her bag is over the weight limit for a flight, and they threaten to charge us extra. She will be emptying her bag in the middle of the airport.

She starts days or even a week in advance.

Mine is terrible. I can fit my bag, and both my kids bags inside hers. She packs more than she ever wears. In fact, I'd say she doesn't even wear half of what she packs. I've jokingly told her while packing that I'd charge her $2 for every item she brings and doesn't wear.

If it's a big trip to someplace I've never been I will research what the weather will be like and suggested things to pack a couple months before I leave(this is what I did for Costa Rica). That gave me time to buy clothes for the trip an other necessary stuff.
Couple weeks before we left I made a detailed packing list for myself and made sure everything on that list was washed, purchased, etc.
Started packing 3 days before the trip.
My husband starting packing the morning of our trip(our flight left 11 that night). He drove me crazy.

I throw everything I can possibly fit into my bag. Doesn't take long.. I literally just bring everything I like to wear.
I also roll like backpackers do, so I can fit a ton.

It's like food. I don't grocery shop for the week because I don't like guessing what I'm going to be hungry for in advance. In the same way, I don't like guessing what I'll feel good wearing in advance.

We do this because we don't know what we may want to wear once we get there. We like options. What if you feel fat that day and want something more flattering? Or it's chilly at night? Or it rains?
Sucks when you are on a trip and realize you wished you would have packed that really cute sundress you have that would look awesome at the resort.
