I've never seen so many grown men oozing butthurt over some teenager expressing himself after a great athletic performance. These people want blood, and they won't stop until they get it.

People got flipped off...It upset them at the time. They went home. Probably slept fine, and will forget about it in 5 years.

I got flipped off last week while driving. I didn't give a frick then and I don't now

He showed his arse...but does that warrant THAT much outrage? You'd think he raped a nun at midfield and then set her on fire.

When you come from a civil respectful school system like the 2 involved, you would know that the school and its mission statement and its values and reputation are WAY WAY WAY more important than a kid running out of his way and make gestures to intentionally disrespect not only an opponent, but attending citizens....and doing all of this IN THE NAME OF THE SCHOOL....yes, it deserves all the attention in those communities that it gets.

Every single person involved has now learned a valuable life lesson and they are all better off realizing consequences. All of us who sacrifice a ton of money to have our kids in institutions where we DEMAND our kids are not only educated, but learn respect and Gods grace, have a vested interest in seeing that what we do isn't in vein just because a kid with family money isn't above the goals of the school as a whole. And that is the main difference between public and private schooling.

Everyone has an opinion, my son would NOT play again this year, period. The school would not have had to worry about suspending him. But that's just me. I'm sure the father felt the same, but let the school make the call to clear it's name and uphold it's values publicly.

I think it would have never come up if WBRZ wouldn't have ran the news story. Kid flipped off crowd, and opposing team retaliated with some in in-game hits. Should have ended there.

I'm more pleased that the LHSAA is suspending the officials..there are so many shitty officials in LHSAA sports its about time some of them were held accountable

Any discipline announced?

First, what he did was wrong

Second, you have absolutely no right to know what happens to him. This is a private matter between the school and the child and his parents

and you know this how? It's NOT private PST, that's the whole point. He PUBLICLY used the schools name to do what he did at a PUBLIC event.

No doubt you would have congratulated your kid!

its not really the fact that people were offended, but more that the kid needs to learn how to respect his elders.

Does he? Again...he's not my child. I'm going to go ahead and leave that up to his parents. And yes, if you go back to the original thread there was outrage over what the kid did...it was called disgusting and people were shocked!!

plus another guy on lushers team took his shirt off and flicked off the crowd two years ago also.

Was anyone injured by this horrible action?

As long as we're handing out parenting advice, here's an old standby..."Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words (or hand gestures) will never hurt me."

No. My kid would be off the team and lose every priviledge he had.

But the fact remains that you still have no right to details about a minor shild who is of no relation to you.
