You may as well be some old fart from the 80s bitching that the uptick of pass centric offenses like the run and shoot or west coast offense weren't real football.
EVERY offense can be called a gimmick ya dipstick.
Fools like you toss that term around so often when it comes to football it doesn't even have any real meaning anymore.

The only "injury risk" that comes with the up tempo offense is being tired / cramping.

Couldn't you just as easily argue that timing your blitz to the snap count is also a "gimmick"?
Defenses move players around all the time trying to get an advantage at the time of the snap. I don't see a reason why the offense shouldn't try to do the same thing.
