Suzanne Stauffer Lambert is the LSU professor I see post often on the facebook page. The article in the paper mentions the group Better Together but that doesn't mean anything to me. I'm just a common under informed every day citizen. I keep hearing that alot of the organizers for Better Together are also members of TogetherBR. I was hoping that someone more informed than me could clear it up one way or the other.

Naïve? That is being realistic.
There has been some improvement, but not all that great especially when you consider the millions spent on new schools, fixing up old schools, and teacher pay raises.

Thanks Russian. You have always been one of my favorite posters even though we don't always agree.
As far as school improvement scores in recent years, I know a few of the F rated schools became charter schools, are those scores still included in the district scores as well or are they treated as private schools now?
I don't deny that the elementary schools in the St. George area are tops, that reason #1 why my wife and I overpaid to move out here, so our future kids could go to Shenandoah Elementary. My main concern is what happens after that if my kid is not lucky enough to win the magnet school lottery. I'm not sure if an ISD would fix the dysfunction that is EBRPSS, but I'm hoping that it will go to a vote and everyone can get better informed on both sides.

Exactly how I feel.
My kids walked to Shenandoah when it was a very good school. I don't know how it grades out now but we loved it.
It's a shame all EBR schools can't be like that.

It looks like Together Baton Rouge is an affiliate of Saul Alinsky's Chicago "Industrial Areas Foundation"
While I haven't done much to research your question, a quick google search turned up the above articles. A search of "Together Baton Rouge and Better Together turned up the following Advocate article stating that the two groups aren't officially linked, but that they share leadership and methods of operation:

Still, some leaders and organizers of Residents Against the Breakaway, including Dianne Hanley, are heavily involved in Together Baton Rouge. Hanley was a key voice in the Capital Area Transit System campaign, when Together Baton Rouge helped promote the April 2012 tax election.
At the Better Together public assembly on Tuesday, Hanley was a key speaker, and Bagert helped direct the event. The event followed the same format that Together Baton Rouge has become known for — highlighting personal testimonials from people affected by the specific issue under discussion.
Bagert said Together Baton Rouge has been hesitant to jump into the debate, because its executive committee members believe the issue should be driven by residents of the unincorporated area.
He noted that some Together Baton Rouge leaders who live in that area have become involved in Residents Against the Breakaway and have shared their organizational skills and techniques. But he said the two nonprofits are entirely independent.
