I am a purchasing agent at a large plant about 20 minutes from my house. This plant is about 45 minutes away. I make about $46,000 at my current position. I've only been here 1 year and expect my salary to increase. Problem I have is I don't care much for the work. At this point, I'm no more than a clerk, processing orders in the system. Not sure I'd be too interested in unloading material either though. If they money were good enough, say $60,000, I'd be on it. HS graduate required tells me it's about a $16/hr. job. They are calling me to interview and I don't want to be rude.

I'm guessing WAY less than that.
To be honest, it probably won't even pay you what you're making now.

Why not ask upfront? Say you don't want to waste their time or yours, so what is the salary range?

My guess is $40,000. Like someone else said, just ask what range the pay would be in and that way you don't waste your time.

This statement makes me think it won't be 60k.

I worked for Energy Transfer before my current job. That position will not be 60K. I bet you are making more now that what that job pays. They do get annual bonuses based on performance of the company and your employee classification.

$40,000 but watch out if it's a supervisor job it may be exempt if it is then your looking at 45-60 hrs a week.

Ask for a range.
Probably $40k ish, but a lot of OT potential.
